Job Title: Caf Assistant Location: Dorchester Contract Type: Temporary (A minimum of three weeks) Hours: 37 hours per week (8AM-4PM Monday-Friday) Salary: 13.05- 13.47 per hour (DOE) About Us Connect2Dorset is the managed service provider for Dorset Council, delivering high-quality temporary, contract, and interim staffing solutions. About the Role You will be supporting Dorset County Hall's internal on-site caf , taking orders, providing customer service, preparing meals and drinks, serving food, and taking payments. This is a busy and friendly environment where teamwork and excellent customer care are essential. This temporary role is covering an employee absence and is expected to last for a minimum of 3 weeks. There may be an opportunity for the assignment to continue beyond this period depending on recovery and operational requirements. Key Responsibilities Providing a friendly and professional service to customers Taking food and drink orders accurately Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks and meals Operating the till and handling cash/card payments Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the caf and kitchen areas Restocking supplies and assisting with stock rotation Supporting kitchen staff with basic food preparation Following food safety and health & safety procedures at all times Working collaboratively as part of the caf team Skills & Experience Previous experience in a caf , catering, hospitality, or customer service role is desirable Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Reliable, punctual, and well-presented Basic food hygiene knowledge is beneficial Ability to work effectively as part of a team A positive attitude and willingness to learn Connect2Dorset is a trading style of Dorset & Kent Commercial Services LLP - A joint venture between Dorset Council & Commercial Services Kent Ltd.
