Job title: Modern Workplace Solution Architect (M365) Location : Leeds / Edinburgh (2 days onsite) Daily Rate : 700 (Inside IR35) Contract Length : 6 months (with potential for extension) Working Pattern : Full Time The Role Are you ready to take your career to the next level? This is a hands-on architecture role where you'll design and enhance internal employee platforms within the Microsoft 365 environment. Forget being tied to just one project! What We're Looking For Must-Have Skills : Strong experience as a Solution Architect within Modern Workplace / M365 environments Proven experience in developing, designing, and testing enterprise solutions using Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Intune, Entra ID, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Office 365, and collaboration tools like Teams and Power Platform. Proven ability to design end-to-end solutions (documentation, diagrams, governance) Experience with Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, collaboration tools) Experience in Entra / Azure AD (identity & access management) Excellent stakeholder communication skills Experience with YAML pipelines for automation in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions. Solid understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practises. Familiarity with modern security standards, including identity-driven security and zero trust. Knowledge of virtualization solutions across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform. Experience with Unified Endpoint Management Technologies (e.g., Microsoft Intune, JAMF). What You'll Be Working On Designing solutions across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, SharePoint, collaboration tools) Identity & Access Management (Entra/Azure AD, external users, multi-tenant setups) Supporting Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) integrations and tenant migrations Driving improvements in automation and infrastructure (Terraform, CI/CD pipelines) Exploring AI and modern workplace innovations (e.g., Copilot) Enhancing data visibility and observability across platforms Nice-to-Have Automation experience (PowerShell, Terraform, CI/CD) Exposure to Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) Experience with data, monitoring, or observability tools Background in regulated environments (e.g., financial services) Why Join Us? The main purpose of the role is to take responsibility for the end-to-end ownership and improvement of the organisation's application estate and any associated integration. You will act as product owner and manage the application roadmap, continuous improvement and upgrades, whilst promoting usability, adoption and value. Further day-to-day activities will include project managing implementations and upgrades; stakeholder management and reporting; third-party supplier management; product roadmap creation and maintenance; project management; support service provision; maintenance of super user network; data integrity and security; and the production of systems documentation and training. Essential Experience working in a Business Systems Manager, Applications Manager, Applications Team Lead, Senior Applications Analyst capacity. Strong experience of application lifecycle management across an estate of SaaS and hybrid applications. Strong Microsoft 365 applications and services experience in an organisational setting. Hands on experience managing SharePoint Online. Experience of working with core business enterprise systems with Finance, CRM, HR & Payroll, etc Project Management/Lead experience. Experience working on projects to install or upgrade commercial SaaS software applications (implementation/upgrade, build, configuration, UAT/testing, UX, training, support) and on service improvements. Mentoring or Leading teams, line management, and/or performance management and motivation. Strong supplier management capabilities. Desirable Relevant certification, such as Microsoft, vendor-specific, PRINCE2, ITIL, etc Experience implementing or operating Microsoft Purview capabilities.
