HPC & Scientific Computing Engineer
Synergetic
HPC & Scientific Computing Engineer Inside IR35 Hybrid (2-3 days pw on site in London) Duration: 3 months initial with strong chance of extension Do you speak fluent HPC? Can you tell a legitimate MPI communicator from a suspicious one? We need someone who has lived and breathed supercomputing, not just read about it. You'll be Embedded in a high-profile delivery team building a code screening platform for a regulated client environment. Your deep knowledge of how HPC workloads actually behave is the difference between a system that works and one that drowns in false positives. You'll map workflows, define what 'normal' looks like on a GPU cluster, and make sure the engineering team never builds something that falls apart when it meets real scientific code. You'll also be the trusted link between the delivery team and the client's supercomputing operations staff. What we're looking for Strong experience in HPC, research computing, or scientific computing operations Strong hands-on Slurm, MPI, CUDA, and multi-node GPU cluster experience Comfortable in Python, C/C++, Fortran, understanding code, not just running it Experience with parallel file systems and HPC data movement architectures Ideally: national lab, supercomputing centre, or Cray/HPE environment background If you're interested please send a current CV for review

Security & Compliance Infrastructure Engineer
Synergetic
Security & Compliance Infrastructure Engineer 3 months + Hybrid working (2-3 days on site in London) You think in audit trails, not application logic. You've built systems that have to be defensible under regulatory scrutiny not just functional. If compliance-by-design is how you naturally approach engineering, this is the role for you. You'll be building the regulatory infrastructure underpinning a government-facing code screening platform the part that has to hold up in review. That means immutable audit logs, cryptographic tamper detection, a restricted-entity checker against sanctions lists, and evidence packs that tell a complete and defensible compliance story. This is hands-on engineering in a high-stakes environment, not writing compliance documentation. Everything you build will be scrutinised. It needs to be right. What we're looking for 5+ years in cybersecurity engineering or compliance engineering in regulated environments Hands-on NIST 800-171/800-53 or equivalent implementation experience Practical experience with entity/sanctions screening systems Immutable audit infrastructure design (hash chaining, append-only stores) Policy-as-code and rule engine development Defence, FedRAMP, ITAR, or export control background highly desirable CISSP, CISA, or CISM a plus If you are available and interested in this new role please send a current CV for review

LLM Inference & Deployment Engineer
Synergetic
LLM Inference & Deployment Engineer (Air-Gapped Environments) 3 month + contract Inside IR35 Hybrid working (2-3 days in London) You've deployed 70B parameter models on GPU clusters with no Internet access. You know the difference between a model that works in a notebook and one that runs reliably in production under compliance scrutiny. If that's your world, we want to talk. This is a genuinely specialist role. The platform you'll be working on runs multiple large-scale LLMs concurrently, frontier models for text screening, code LLMs for analysis, transformer encoders for classification, all in an air-gapped environment with a fixed compute budget and zero external API access. You'll own the inference infrastructure end-to-end: GPU allocation strategy, quantisation decisions, batching, determinism controls, and offline deployment packaging. The system has to be fast, reliable, and auditable. That's a rare combination of skills and this role is for someone who has genuinely done it before. What we're looking for Production experience with vLLM, TensorRT-LLM, TGI, or equivalent at multi-GPU scale Model quantisation expertise: GPTQ, AWQ, GGUF, bitsandbytes Multi-node inference: tensor/pipeline/expert parallelism Air-gapped or classified environment deployment experience strongly preferred Offline dependency packaging: conda-pack, pip wheels, container images If you are available and interested in this new role please send a current CV.
