Senior C Developer (Oracle Pro C) 430 per day Telford/hybrid (2 days per week onsite) 6 months+ SC security clearance is required for this role Join a Major HMRC Digital Transformation Programme We're looking for a skilled Senior C Developer to join a delivery team supporting one of the UK's largest and most critical government technology programmes. This is an opportunity to work on the modernisation of key HMRC systems, helping drive the transition from legacy database technologies to modern Oracle-based platforms while ensuring highly critical services remain secure, stable and performant. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, architects and database specialists, contributing to large-scale backend systems used across the public sector. What You'll Be Doing Analysing and enhancing existing C-based applications Supporting the migration from legacy Ingres databases to Oracle environments Updating application-to-database connectivity Improving performance, resilience and error handling Supporting testing activities including unit, functional and regression testing Producing technical documentation, design notes and support runbooks Collaborating within Agile delivery teams and wider programme stakeholders Essential Skills Strong commercial experience developing in C Experience supporting and enhancing backend applications Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Experience working through the full software development lifecycle Ability to work effectively within Agile teams Highly Desirable Oracle Pro C Oracle PL/SQL SQL optimisation and database development Legacy application modernisation experience Government or highly regulated environments Why Apply?
