The Maintenance Technician will be part of a Maintenance Team providing support to the manufacturing plant, you will have expertise in both mechanical and electrical maintenance work to ensure the plant runs smoothly and efficiently, whilst supporting the ongoing development of the team. Hours: Working an alternative 7-day shift pattern including weekends, each shift will be 12-hours, 6.00am - 6.00pm averaging a 42-hour week. Salary: Highly competitive and aligned with current market rates. Duties Include: Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), inspections, and testing of plant equipment. Accurately record all maintenance activities using the planned maintenance system. Follow and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and manufacturer guidelines. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reliability. Assist with plant start-up and shutdown procedures when required. Maintain excellent communication with colleagues and supervisors across departments. Promote a proactive and positive approach to Health & Safety, leading by example in both individual conduct and as part of the Maintenance team. Collaborate closely with production and plant supervisors to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the facility, providing a rapid response to breakdowns. Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across a range of plant machinery and equipment. Participate in fire safety and emergency procedures. Remain flexible for call-outs, overtime, and shutdown cover. Maintain strong communication and work independently when required. About You: You will be a qualified multi-skilled technician, preferably with a minimum of 5 years' experience, in a medium or heavy engineering environment with strong electrical competency. You will ideally have welding and fabrication skills would be an advantage although not essential. This role will include both mechanical and electrical maintenance work and will sometimes entail you being the single technician on site, so excellent fault-finding abilities and self-motivation are essential. You will hold a recognised apprenticeship/HNC/HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Other skills: Good administrative skills and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines. Ability to work using your initiative to a high standard with excellent attention to detail whilst meeting deadlines. Open style and a team player. Excellent leadership and man management skills.
