We are looking to hire an experience Toolmaker for a Manufacturing business working across multiple industries. If you have experience working with a stamping, pressing or prototype environment then this is a great role for you! Within the role you will be responsible for maintaining tools to support production and NPI projects. This will involve developing new tools along with modifying or repairing existing tooling by following detailed engineering drawings or reverse engineering parts. To succeed within this position will be able to demonstrate the use of hand tools and machinery which will consist of lathes, presses, milling and grinding. Day to day responsibilities will include: - Routine maintenance on press tooling (20-300ton press tools) this will be both progression and second operations - Be involved in productivity improvement initiatives# - Use 2D and 3D CAD software - Work closely with production when attending breakdowns to identify root cause and solve problems Additional experience required for this role: - Served within a domestic or contract toolroom - Experience with multi stage progression tools - Experience using CNC and EDM machinery, ideally with knowledge of VISI. This role will be working a permanent afternoon shift 38 hours a week. Monday to Thursday 1:30pm to 10pm and Friday 12pm to 6pm. In return a fantastic salary with additional shift allowance is on offer, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, pension 9% collective and much more.

MET Recruitment are currently seeking a Tool Maker an established client based in the Kingswinford area. The candidate will begin on a day shift for the first 6 months, before moving onto the twilight shift. Please note that this role is a straight permanent position with the client. Duties Support the development of new tools and modify existing tooling by following engineering drawings to measure and mark out design Fit, trial, debug and modify new tooling and set and complete try outs in the presses. Monitor the tools used on the manufacturing line to ensure efficient run rates and identify necessary repairs or improvements Maintain and strip, inspect, repair and rebuild tools for existing customers. Liaise with setters to ensure tooling is repaired and back in service in a timely and efficient manner. Attend machine breakdowns to identify root cause and solve the problem Use hand tools (files, hacksaws and grinders) and machinery (lathes, presses, milling machines and grinders) Use 2D and 3D CAD and manufacturing software Use precision measurement instruments such as micrometres, gauges and Vernier callipers to check tooling dimensions Be responsible for routine maintenance for all press tooling ( ton power press tools, both progression & second operations) Be responsible for jig & gauge making. Compile reports as required Be involved in productivity improvement initiatives. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workshop organisation. Skills & Experience Required Proven experience as a Toolmaker in a manufacturing or engineering environment. Strong experience with press tools, jigs, fixtures, or similar tooling. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Experience with manual machining (milling, turning, grinding). Strong bench fitting and precision assembly skills. Competent using measuring equipment (micrometres, verniers, gauges). Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desirable Experience Press tooling experience in a production or high-volume environment. Background in maintenance toolroom or production engineering support. CNC machining experience (advantageous but not essential). Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments. Tool Technician Based in Wotton, Surrey (Own transport is required due to Rural location) Monday - Friday / 8am - 4.30pm The Tool technician is tasked with supporting the production department daily, based in the tool room. Working with other team members cleaning and servicing of Injection moulding tools with timely turnaround to maintain production schedules. The cleaning and servicing of the injection moulding tools requires good attention to detail and quality of workmanship that are vital to this role. What You'll Be Doing The Tooling technician will be servicing and cleaning injection mould tools, stripping them down for cleaning, inspecting for issues and reporting any found, reassembling the tools after servicing, and returning the tools to the production department. On occasion other responsibilities for the repair, maintenance, and calibration of tools, jigs, fixtures, and instruments may be required Daily servicing & cleaning of mould tools in the tool room or in the factory. Carrying out the repairs, modifications and servicing of injection moulding tools and other associated tooling. Document service & repair work by completing electronic records, including photographs of issues documented. At times support production by completing cleans or repairs in the clean room factory. To carry out, cleaning and servicing on other toolroom and production equipment as required from time to time. Assist in equipment repairs and breakdown if required. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment. What You'll Bring You will hold a C&G's, NVQ or Apprenticeship trained Solid experience in mechanical assembly & disassembly and basic wiring. Experience of Manual and CNC machine tools to include all or some of the following: Surface Grinder, CNC, VMC, Milling and Centre Lathe Mechanical Engineering / toolmaker apprenticeship, with experience in injection molding tools although not essential. High precision injection tooling, polishing, and finishing experience is desirable. Hot runner experience and multi-cavity high is also advantageous Be able to read and understand 2D component Drawings, experience with wiring drawings also advantageous Core Computer skills using email, excel and word documents. Work in a small team with good communication & co-operation Ability to work under pressure and keep to deadlines. Ability to adapt to change and maintain a positive attitude and continuous improvements.
