Contract Type: Variable hour, permanent (Start date August 2026) Location: Bath International Study Centre Salary: £33.57 per hourAcademic English Tutors primary role is to deliver high quality learning opportunities in English Language and Academic Skills to students on Study Group's Academic and English Skills (AES) modules and on the University of Bath's pre-sessional and in-sessional English courses. Timetabled teaching hours for a full time Tutor will be up to 25 hours per week.Tutors will work as part of an academic team at the International Study Centre (ISC) to ensure the effective delivery of teaching programmes in line with Study Group's Learning, Teaching and Assessment Strategy. Tutors will also contribute directly to student support and to the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices across the centre. As a tutor, you will contribute to the design, development and production of teaching and learning materials and delivery across a range of modules or within a subject area. ABOUT THE ROLE Teaching, Learning and Assessment Plan, prepare for and deliver high quality teaching sessions that follow an agree module specification and scheme of work. Develop and update course materials including for the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Prepare and/or administer formative and summative assessment, according to module specifications and the needs of individual students and groups. Mark assessments and provide meaningful and developmental feedback to individual students. Monitor the academic progress of individual students and groups, and report progress according to agreed processes and timelines. Prepare and distribute student academic progress reports to students and agreed stakeholders. Provide academic guidance and support to students. Develop and promote student activities to promote student engagement and enhance the student experience. Support the delivery of induction, orientation and registration programmes. Academic management Participate in regular meetings and administrative tasks, contributing to the effective overall management of the learning, teaching and assessment activities. Quality and standards assurance and enhancement Follow and implement quality assurance procedures, including contributing to on-going and annual module, course and programme reviews. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance and performance in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements. Participate in regular CPD and scholarly activities to ensure an understanding of and application of sector-wide current good practice. Participate in Peer Observation activities, including reviewing own practice and development needs as a result of Peer Observation feedback. ABOUT YOU TEFL, CELTA A Bachelor degree in a relevant subject area. Candidates with further qualifications in the subject area will be welcome and a Masters qualification is normally essential for teaching on any of the pre-masters programmes. Candidates holding a DELTA will be particularly welcomed. Experience of teaching in UK higher or further education and preferably a teaching qualification and experience of working with international students. Ability to deliver high quality teaching sessions that support student progress to, and achievement of agreed attainment levels. A student-centred approach, with evidence of effective feedback and support for all students and groups. This role is responsible for carrying out Military Airworthiness Review for aircraft held under the charge of RNAS Yeovilton Delivery Duty Holder as directed by the Mil AR Team Leader in accordance with extant policy. The Senior Supervisor (MAR) will form part of the Commando Helicopter Force based at RNAS Yeovilton, with the capacity to support at other military establishments as required. Main Accountabilities: Leading independent ARs and compiling ARs report findings. Consulting with the MAR T/L, raising Defence Aviation Safety Occurrence reports (DASORs), AR process reviews, Quality Occurrence reports (QORs), Narrative Fault Findings (MF760) and Unsatisfactory Feature Reports (MF765) should any airworthiness issues be identified during AR activity. To provide SQEP AR continuity within the department and mentor less-experienced Authority AR staff/new joiners. To review AR findings to support the Continuing Airworthiness Maintenance Organisation (CAMO) and Technical Data Exploration (TDE) and trending. To prepare AR trends and TDE reports for Continuous Airworthiness Management Meetings (CAMMs), Data Exploitation and Trending Working Group (DETWG), Air Safety Board for ach platform and as directed by the MAR T/L. Where required by Customer Regulations and Procedures employees are authorised to carry out contracted tasks.
