DV (Developed Vetting) Security Cleared Senior Azure/Cloud Engineer/Azure Devops is required by our government client based in Milton Keynes or London (commutable from Northampton, East Midlands, Bedford, Luton, North London). Hybrid working Working in a DV Security Cleared environment. You will hold a current DV clearance or be eligible to undertake. Rate: c.£500 - 600 (umbrella company) As the Senior Cloud/Azure Engineer leads the design, deployment, and optimisation of cloud infrastructure, enabling us to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative digital services globally. This role drives cloud adoption, automation, and continuous improvement in line with the organisations digital and AI transformation strategy. Responsibilities: Architect, implement, and manage cloud platforms (primarily Azure), ensuring compliance, security, and cost-effectiveness. Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. Mentor junior engineers, contribute to DevOps practices, and support incident response and service improvement initiatives. Job Title: Lead Cloud & Database Services Engineer Day Rate: Circa £650 per day, Inside IR35 Clearance Required: DV Clearance (Developed Vetting) Location: Milton Keynes or Glasgow, 3 days per week. Duration: 6 Months initially An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Cloud and Database Services Engineer to provide technical leadership across cloud and database platforms, ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performing infrastructure. You will lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of cloud and database solutions, drive automation, security, and compliance , and mentor engineers while fostering a culture of continuous improvement . Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and optimise cloud and database solutions to meet strategic objectives. Drive automation, security, and compliance across cloud and database platforms. Provide technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and supporting key strategic projects. Champion innovation, best practices, and continuous improvement across the engineering function. Skills & Experience Strong expertise in Azure Tenant , SQL , KQL , Ansible , and Power BI . Hands-on experience with containerisation (Docker/Podman) , CEPH , and PKI . Proficiency in PowerShell , Python , and Linux . Deep understanding of database security and automation. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide technical teams.
