London Diocesan Fund is seeking to make the appointment of Building Surveyor to its Housing team. The Diocese of London is the group of Church of England organisations located in North London. It comprises of c400 parishes north of the River Thames and within the M25 motorway, and also includes schools, chaplaincies, missional communities, and other organisations. The London Diocesan Fund (LDF) seek to do all that they can to support mission and growth in the Diocese of London, using resources to help parishes and worshipping communities serve over 4 million people. The LDF has a property portfolio valued in excess of 1bn of which circa 450 assets are dedicated housing for clergy and a further 150 assets are utilised for clergy usage or let on the open market. With a diverse portfolio (ranging from more modern stock to Grade I & II listed assets), the Housing team is responsible for all ongoing works, quinquennial works, compliance, refurbishments and planned and reactive maintenance. Reporting to the Head of Housing, the Building Surveying role will be wholly responsible for the strategic direction and delivery of the quinquennial surveying programme. This includes planning, scheduling, and completing surveys, both personally and via external consultants. A key part of the role will be managing and maintaining robust project tracking systems to ensure surveys and associated works are completed on schedule, while continuously improving service levels. You will also promote strong health and safety practices and ensure full compliance with relevant standards. This appointment offers the opportunity to take on a newly created and autonomous role, with responsibility for shaping the quinquennial works programme, directly supporting clergy within an organisation dedicated to serving its local communities. For this role, relevant professional industry accreditation is required (MRICS, RIBA or MCIOB). The LDF is offering a competitive salary, generous pension contribution and leave allowance alongside private healthcare.
