Exchange Street Claims & Financial Services
Paraplanner
Exchange Street Claims & Financial Services Stockport, Cheshire
Certain things are important to you. But what about everyone else? Things like independent advice. A client first focus. Evidenced based investing. But whilst you have clear principles about what great financial planning should look like, it's hard to find your forever home. A place where you're on the same page as everyone else. Hard, but not impossible. This IFA firm is fiercely independent and fiercely proud to be small. What's more, they aren't set up to sell. You don't have to worry about being bought out by a firm that you wouldn't have chosen to firm. Instead it is one that is set up to put employees and clients first with a belief that profits are a natural consequence of doing this well. And this team ethos is reflected in their bonus scheme - you'll get a healthy % share of profits (we will tell you what when we speak) alongside a healthy salary (up to c£45,000 but flexible for the right person). There's a decent benefits package including life assurance and income protection. Plus 25 days holiday and an extra 2-3 days off over Xmas because as the firm says - who wants to work then anyway? The company is a modern financial planning business that uses evidenced based investing. You'll work with the firm's three planners in all things paraplanning related (e.g. cashflow modelling, report writing, post-meeting summaries) and will enjoy the nitty gritty of technical matters. This is a business where the planners aren't on a pedestal. You'll work together to achieve the right outcome for the clients and if that means you have ideas to improve how they work then they're all ears. And it's also one with great retention. Somewhere with a clear ethos about the type of business they want to be. And that means stability. HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED: You will be a level 4 qualified paraplanner who wants to work for a small company. Corporate it ain't. The preference is for you to have started your AF papers. But if you have great interpersonal skills (you're dealing with people and their hopes and dreams after all) then there is flexibility. You'll also need to have cash flow modelling experience (ideally Voyant). The more experience you have in capital gains tax, investment bond encashments, tapered annual allowance etc. the better. The firm is based in Stockport and believes in collaboration. There is some flexibility but the rest of the team are in the office most days. - Time for change? Click apply. If you don't have a CV don't worry we can come to that later. Everyone will receive a response.

Exchange Street Claims & Financial Services
Trainee Financial Planner
Exchange Street Claims & Financial Services
The fact they have a wealth creation (equity) scheme for their staff isn't the only thing different about this business. It still proudly provides first class financial advice (Trustpilot will tell you that). But it has a clear mission - to give great financial planning advice whether someone has £20,000 or £250,000.That means tackling pension poverty. It means giving much needed peace of mind to the tens of thousands of people who feel excluded from financial planning. And it means tackling the advice gap.Which is where you come in. THE JOB You'll join the firm's advice team and will be speaking to clients from an early stage. To start with that means leading the initial consultation and doing a deep dive on each client's situation. But you'll also get to develop and become the adviser who presents the advice and signs it off.Along the way you'll get training. A lot of it. The firm are big believers in it and they run three sessions per week for the existing team.Combine that with the many conversations you'll have with clients each day and your development will be considerable.Because ultimately you get good at something by doing it. And the more you do of it the quicker and better you get. Sadly, glass ceilings are real and pathways to advice are limited in the wider market. But not here. THE PAY Salary is £40,000 and there's a bonus paid each month based on the number of conversions made. But you don't have to worry here - they work with the best lead generator around and conversions are 80% and growing. There's also an additional bonus scheme where a profit pot is pooled between staff. Which all adds up to an environment where you'll soon be earning £65,000 - £75,000. Add to that there's a wealth creation scheme. You're not just an employee here - you'll get a real stake. There are other benefits of working here. The company's vibe is more start up than established. It has an energy and a restlessness to get better. It has a belief in collaboration. This isn't somewhere where your ideas are waved away. You'll not only get to become the planner you know you can be. You will also do it in a business that is growing and growing. And as it grows so will you. That said it has had plenty of success already. They brought in well over £100m AUM in 2025 and that figure keeps growing. Indeed, they're one of the fastest growing financial planning firms around. And this success has led to major investment in its infrastructure (people and technology). It has paraplanners, a head of client journey, success managers and so on meaning that your time will be with clients, not paperwork. It has also hired several high profile people into the leadership team from prestigious national wealth managers. It all boils down to a fulfilling job where you get the chance to advise, get well paid for it and get a stake in the business. What's not to like? HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED Level 4 qualified (or close to) is great and you will need to secure it. But in short the biggest thing you need is confidence/knowledge around pensions. You'll be ready to advise. You'll learn on the job and have expectations placed on you quickly so need to be OK with that.Because this isn't a traditional financial planning job. By the nature of what they do advice is much more transactional/one-off - so if you're looking to work with the same HNW clients for 20 years this isn't for you. You'll be motivated by working for a firm with a mission. You'll want to start your advice journey now and make big strides quickly. It is a young, energetic, vibrant outfit and that will be important to you too.You will want to and enjoy working in an office environment. The offices are fantastic and you'll know that working with your team will aid your development like nothing else. - This job isn't for everyone. In fact we know it won't be right for the majority of aspiring planners. But for someone it will be perfect. Think that might be you? Click apply or send us a way of contacting you. If you don't have a CV don't worry we can come to that later.Everyone will receive a reply.
