The life of a Learning Disability Support Worker includes supporting service users with personal care, day trips out, playing games, sensory experiences and even watching the odd movie! In addition to this, some of your main duties will include but are not limited to: Supporting with visits to health appointments, day trips and holidays Administrating medication Providing emotional support Supporting and encouraging engagement in learning opportunities High levels of personal care including washing, bathing, dressing and feeding service users - full training provided Assisting service users with domestic tasks such as cooking, cleaning and laundry Using hoists, wheelchairs and other equipment as required by each service user - full training provided Supporting individuals with challenging behaviour (full training provided) Please note that due to the needs of our service users, there are high levels of moving & handling and risk management involved in the role; as such, you will need to be willing and able to undertake these duties.
