Class 2 HGV Cover Driver Job Type: Full Time Location: Candidates can be based at any of our locations in Dartford, Barking, Purfleet, Basildon or Rochford. Salary: £15.00 per hour, 10 hours minimum guaranteed. £20.00 per hour after 10 hours. £30 per night out (if applicable). Benefits: Pay is weekly. Overtime scheme after working 10 hours per day. Any nights out will be paid for, and you will be expected to park securely in services. Training is provided, and any renewal training (including CPC and ADR) is paid for by the company. A pension plan is available with your employment. This is a full-time position within a friendly, family-run business. You would be required to cover drivers' holidays across our fleet of Class 2 trucks, as well as sickness absence, which may occasionally be at shorter notice. On days where driver cover is not required, you will be allocated service runs and will work closely with the transport office to ensure consistent full-time hours. The Role: In your first one to two weeks, you will be paired with one of our driver trainers to learn how to safely deliver and collect various customer workloads. Your role within the company will be to provide holiday and sickness cover across our fleet. We would be looking for you to cover planned holidays for our full-time drivers, as well as occasional short-notice absences. All PPE required for training will be issued prior to your start date. Your work will vary from week to week, but you will return to either our Grays or Shoebury depot throughout the week. All hours are paid as per tachograph, including breaks. Jobs will be allocated throughout the week via email and the transport team, so good communication is essential. Any delays, issues or relevant information must be communicated promptly. Essential Skills and Qualifications: Must be keen, efficient and have sound safe working practices. Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence. At least one year's experience in Class 2 driving. Salary: £15.00 per hour, 10 hours minimum guaranteed. £20.00 per hour after 10 hours. £30 per night out (if applicable). Benefits: Pay is weekly. Overtime scheme after working 10 hours per day. Any nights out will be paid for, and you will be expected to park securely in services. Training is provided, and any renewal training (including CPC and ADR) is paid for by the company. A pension plan is available with your employment. This is a full-time position within a friendly, family-run business. You would be required to cover drivers' holidays across our fleet of Class 2 trucks, as well as sickness absence, which may occasionally be at shorter notice. On days where driver cover is not required, you will be allocated service runs and will work closely with the transport office to ensure consistent full-time hours. The Role: In your first one to two weeks, you will be paired with one of our driver trainers to learn how to safely deliver and collect various customer workloads. Your role within the company will be to provide holiday and sickness cover across our fleet. We would be looking for you to cover planned holidays for our full-time drivers, as well as occasional short-notice absences. All PPE required for training will be issued prior to your start date. Your work will vary from week to week, but you will return to either our Grays or Shoebury depot throughout the week. All hours are paid as per tachograph, including breaks. Jobs will be allocated throughout the week via email and the transport team, so good communication is essential. Any delays, issues or relevant information must be communicated promptly. Essential Skills and Qualifications: Must be keen, efficient and have sound safe working practices. Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence. At least one year's experience in Class 2 driving. Valid Digital Tachograph Card. Up-to-date CPC Card. ADR licence preferred, however training can be provided for the right candidate. Lastly, we are a family-run company and proud of this.
