We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Engineer (Trenchless Solutions) to be a key player in our central engineering function, focused on delivering groundbreaking HVDC submarine cable interconnector projects across the UK. About Us: Our client is committed to building the largest offshore cable network in Europe, with over 3000km of HVDC submarine cables planned for installation in the coming decade. As we embark on this ambitious journey, we are looking for talented individuals who are eager to contribute to major infrastructure project delivery and innovative trenchless solutions. What You'll Do: As a Principal Engineer (Trenchless Solutions), you will be at the forefront of our engineering efforts, providing technical expertise in Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) and Direct Pipe operations. Your responsibilities will include: Leading the scoping and delivery of Front End Engineering and Design studies for landfall and challenging onshore crossings. Supporting the preparation of technical inputs for Development Consent Orders and managing pre-commencement conditions. Collaborating on tendering processes, drafting Employer's Technical Requirements, and evaluating contractor bids. Overseeing contractor engineering deliverables and ensuring compliance with safety standards and project requirements. Ensuring timely delivery of information needed for Marine Warranty Surveyor certifications. Engaging with multi-disciplinary teams to facilitate successful project outcomes. Who You Are: You bring years of experience in trenchless operations and major infrastructure project delivery, particularly in offshore environments. You possess a deep understanding of marine and subsea engineering principles. Your communication and people management skills are top-notch, and you thrive in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment. You have a genuine respect for diversity and foster an inclusive culture. Qualifications: Essential: Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience. Desirable: Chartership or equivalent membership in a relevant professional body, site experience in trenchless operations, and offshore construction vessel experience.
