The services are part of 5 homes in the South West, across Dorset and Hampshire, and aim to provide a safe, comfortable and effective care environment for those in our care, promoting independence and community integration. As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care which will encompass person-centred OT assessment and interventions, as well as work in an integrated way with the support teamand wider multidisciplinary team. The occupational therapy team across the 5 homes consists of 3 occupational therapists, supported by a clinical lead OT who steers the model of care and OT pathway. The wider team includes Psychology and Speech and Language therapy, to assist the service in providing outcome based care and support pathways. The services also have activity coordinators, who support the delivery of meaningful occupations. You will have a thorough induction and support from experienced OT colleagues, and will regularly meet with the Head Occupational Therapist for support and supervision as required. In this role you will assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to individual's diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments and team formulation in order to develop treatment plans & care and support plans. You will also empower staff to improve the quality of care through training, modelling and coaching.
