Cygnet Pindar House is a safe and secure place to aid recovery as well as offering those diagnosed with a progressive neurological disease like Huntington's Disease, a caring and longer term placement to support and help manage the progression of their symptoms. The service is a modern purpose-built facility, designed specifically to provide a clinically-led evidence-based neuropsychiatric pathway for individuals presenting with behaviours that challenge. Our focus is to create a therapeutic rich environment to engage the men in our care and offer them the opportunity to maximise their independence. Our in-house Neuropsychiatry interdisciplinary team are able to support those with complex physical health needs and we have bedrooms located on the ground floor for men with mobility impairments. The post holder will be the responsible clinician and will oversee and maintain the care of all ward inpatients as required. The post holder willalso have responsibility for auditing the medical services rendered at the ward and ensuring their good quality in accordance to GMC standards of good medical practice and other relevant professional guidelines. Moreover, the post holder will have responsibility for upholding the Company's policies and procedures and protecting the Company's interests as appropriate. Cygnet Pindar House is a safe and secure place to aid recovery as well as offering those diagnosed with a progressive neurological disease like Huntington's Disease, a caring and longer term placement to support and help manage the progression of their symptoms. The service is a modern purpose-built facility, designed specifically to provide a clinically-led evidence-based neuropsychiatric pathway for individuals presenting with behaviours that challenge. Our focus is to create a therapeutic rich environment to engage the men in our care and offer them the opportunity to maximise their independence. Our in-house Neuropsychiatry interdisciplinary team are able to support those with complex physical health needs and we have bedrooms located on the ground floor for men with mobility impairments. The post holder will be the responsible clinician and will oversee and maintain the care of all ward inpatients as required. The post holder willalso have responsibility for auditing the medical services rendered at the ward and ensuring their good quality in accordance to GMC standards of good medical practice and other relevant professional guidelines. We are expanding our interdisciplinary therapy team and looking for a creative, reflective and enthusiastic Occupational therapist to join us. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone with an interest in Acquired Brain Injury/Stroke looking to develop their skills and career in this specialist and enormously rewarding area. You will be joining our team of experienced and enthusiastic occupational therapists to deliver to deliver bespoke rehabilitation programmes including support to help people back to work (vocational rehabilitation) Icanho is a non-residential highly specialist community- based brain injury service with its main base in Stowmarket Suffolk operating Monday to Friday (within 45 minutes drive of Cambridge or Colchester and 20 minutes away from Ipswich or Bury St Edmunds), and a satellite service in Bungay open 2 days a week. Clinical Main Duties To exercise full professional responsibility for specialist ABI OT assessment, treatment and discharge of clients based upon the appropriate use, analysis and interpretation of data from a variety of sources, including valid outcome measures. To formulate and implement plans with the client, their family and/or carer for evidence-based treatment, including client centred goal setting and discharge planning. To ensure a high quality of treatment is delivered, using ABI experience and knowledge, clinical reasoning and reflective practice. To set goals and write reports in line with service policy/practice in a timely manner appropriate to the recipient and maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping. To ensure that family and carers are involved with the rehabilitation process, providing education and training as required to maximise the clients level of function and independence. To ensure that a high standard of flexible communication with clients, families, carers and outside agencies is maintained. Professional To evidence own personal and continuous professional development by undertaking relevant training, attending meetings and conferences relevant to your Personal Development Plan agreed with the Head of Department and in line with the strategic development for the service. Apply specialist skills and knowledge in order to establish professional competence and fitness to practice as a senior Occupational Therapist To maintain an up to date knowledge of relevant development and research in the field of acquired brain injury rehabilitation locally, nationally and internationally. Employ critical appraisal skills to evaluate research and participate in audit/research activities within the service To receive regular clinical professional supervision in line with Shaftesbury Policy and Procedures and Professional Guidelines. To adhere to all clinical governance policy and procedures.
