Interim Group Financial Accountant

Interim Group Financial Accountant £350 per day (Inside IR35) 6+ month assignment Leicester (4 days on site) Gleeson are delighted to be partnering with a leading FTSE-listed organisation who is seeking an experienced Interim Group Financial Accountant to join its Group Financial Control team from April. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a large, complex business environment, supporting group reporting and financial control during a significant finance transformation programme. Working as part of the Group Finance team, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the group's financial records, supporting the month-end close process and delivering high-quality financial analysis and reporting. Key responsibilities of the Interim Group Financial Accountant Support the delivery of the group month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines Prepare and post complex journals including accruals, prepayments and intercompany adjustments Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities Deliver detailed P&L and balance sheet analysis to support group reporting Assist with interim reporting and preparation of group financial statements Support the external audit process and statutory reporting requirements Maintain and strengthen financial controls across the group environment Investigate and resolve accounting issues or reporting discrepancies Requirements Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or QBE with relevant big business experience Experience within large, complex organisation is essential Background in Group Financial Control or financial reporting is essential Strong financial control and balance sheet management experience Advanced Excel skills and strong ERP exposure Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment This is a hands-on interim opportunity offering strong exposure within a well-established group finance function during an important period of change. For this role, please note: Candidates must have full right to work in the UK without the need for any sponsorship. Candidates must be based within a reasonable commuting distance of Leicester to accommodate 4 days onsite - this is non-negotiable. CVs clearly demonstrating a local base will be prioritised.
