We are currently seeking Wastewater Modellers at all levels - from Graduate through to Principal - to join leading consultancies across the UK. Locations Opportunities are available nationwide, with particular demand in: Exeter, Bristol, Cardiff, Reading, London (and surrounding areas), Haywards Heath, Brighton, Birmingham, Peterborough, Derby, Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester, Warrington, Liverpool, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Belfast. Role Overview As a Wastewater Modeller, you will play a key role within our clients' hydraulic modelling teams, supporting major engineering projects across wastewater networks, integrated catchment management, flood alleviation, SuDS, and stormwater management. Our clients deliver a diverse range of projects for UK water companies, the Environment Agency, Lead Local Authorities, and international partners. Depending on your level of experience, your responsibilities may include: Developing options and solutions, building, calibrating, and verifying complex hydraulic models Hydraulic and water quality analysis, including catchment hydraulics and pollutant source assessment Integrated catchment modelling - evaluating interactions between sewers, watercourses, and overland flows Supporting delivery of Storm Overflow Assessment Framework (SOAF) and Water Framework Directive (WFD) programmes Candidate Requirements Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Civil Engineering, Geography, Water & Environmental Engineering, Hydraulics) Experience in urban drainage / wastewater network modelling Proficiency in hydraulic modelling software such as Infoworks ICM Understanding of UK water industry legislation, policy, and regulatory requirements Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills For Senior and Principal roles: Chartered (ICE / CIWEM) or working towards accreditation Proven track record in business development, client and project management, and/or team leadership What's in it for you? The successful candidate will be required to work on a hybrid basis, 2-3 days a week, from one of our client's offices across the country. You will be responsible for a variety of projects with a focus on flood risk management and design projects. - Competitive hourly rate of £55 (subject to experience) - Hybrid working arrangement (2-3 days a week) Responsibilities: -Design and maintain hydraulic models, using tools like InfoWorks ICM, HEC-RAS, and/or TUFLOW, for wastewater, flood risk, and drainage systems. - Examine survey, rainfall, flow, and spatial datasets and integrate GIS tools (e.g. ArcGIS/QGIS) to support modelling work. -Read and acknowledge model results and create concise technical reports, visualisations, and documentation. -Ensure that UK industry standards, practices, and guidance are being followed. -Work alongside other multidisciplinary teams, supporting quality assurance, project planning, and peer reviews. What We Are Looking For: -Master's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and pursuing professional accreditation. -Extensive experience in hydraulic modelling, with a focus on water and environmental projects, and producing technical modelling reports. -Proficient in the use of modelling software such as TUFLOW, FloodModeller, and ESTRY, and the use of GIS software (e.g. ArcGIS or QGIS). -Strong communication and analytical skills, with a problem-solving mindset and a desire to learn, collaborate, and create high-quality work. -Understanding of UK water industry regulations and policies surrounding flood risk is desirable.
