Legal Counsel
Yolk Recruitment City, Cardiff
Opportunity: Legal Counsel Location: Cardiff Flexible Hybrid & Remote Working Salary: Up to 60,000 + Excellent Benefits Commercial Contracts Lawyer looking for something a little different? If you've built a strong foundation in commercial contracts and you're starting to wonder whether there's more to legal life than the same agreements, the same stakeholders and the same conversations, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for. We're working exclusively on an in-house Legal Counsel position within a high-profile organisation at the heart of Welsh sport. This is a chance to step into a broad, varied role where no two days are quite the same. You'll advise on a fascinating mix of commercial matters, negotiating and drafting agreements that impact the business. From sponsorship and licensing arrangements to event-related contracts, regulatory matters and strategic projects, you'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation and become a trusted legal adviser rather than simply the person reviewing contracts at the end of the process. We're particularly keen to speak with lawyers who have solid experience negotiating and drafting commercial contracts. Exposure to sports-related agreements would be advantageous. If you're commercially minded, adaptable and excited by the idea of applying your skills in a unique environment, we'd love to hear from you! What You Will Be Doing: Negotiating and drafting a broad range of commercial agreements Advising stakeholders across the business on legal and regulatory matters Supporting major projects, events and strategic initiatives Providing practical, commercially focused legal advice Working on a diverse workload that extends beyond pure contracts work, including compliance and governance matters What We Are Looking For: Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with around 3+ years' PQE Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts Excellent communication and relationship-building skills A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach Experience with sports contracts would be a bonus, but isn't essential Why Consider This Opportunity? Work in a unique sector with high-profile stakeholders Flexible hybrid and remote working arrangements 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays 5% matched pension contribution Free gym access Healthcare cash plan options and enhanced sick pay Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing support Exclusive discounts and offers Two complimentary tickets to senior men's and women's home games This is the sort of role that doesn't come around often. It would suit someone who enjoys the technical side of commercial law but is looking for greater variety, closer stakeholder relationships and the opportunity to be part of something people are genuinely passionate about. If you're curious to find out more, even if you're not actively looking, I'd love to have a confidential chat! Yolk Recruitment is an equal opportunities employer and embraces diversity in our workforce. We employ the best people for the job at hand and actively encourage applications from all qualified candidates, regardless of gender, age, race, religion, sexual orientation, disability, educational background, parental status, gender identity or any other protected characteristic.
