Role: ServiceNow Developer Salary/Rate: £600-700 Location: hybrid multiple locations availableContract Duration: 12 months We are currently looking for a ServiceNow Developer for our government client. This ServiceNow Developer role is hybrid, based between 2 days per week on site and the remainder of the week working remotely. Office locations include most major towns, with London being a preference. The contract for the ServiceNow Developer position is for 12-months with potential to extend, operating inside IR35. Security Clearance: Security Check ("SC Clearance") This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role, it will now be based on an Umbrella solution. Essential experience required: ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification or equivalent experience. Proficient in scripting (JavaScript, Glide API), platform configuration, and integration methods (REST/SOAP). Demonstrable recent, practical development experience , not just solution design or consultancy oversight. Strong ITSM development experience (e.g., incident, change, problem, catalogue, workflows, scripting) Event Management (ITOM) or Scoped application development Delivered customisation, scripting, integrations, and technical problem-solving directly , rather than relying on managed suppliers Provide specific technical examples of what you have built and how Delivered features in a fast-paced Agile or DevOps environment. Familiarity with platform upgrade processes and maintenance of development standards. Collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to contribute to solution design sessions and peer reviews. Desirable: ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or relevant module-specific certifications (e.g., ITSM, ITOM) are a plus. Relevant qualifications in ITIL or Agile methodologies. Customer Service Management (CSM) / Application Portfolio Management (APM) / Security Incident Response (SIR) experience Previous delivery experience with integrations such as GitHub, or Entra ID. Understanding of security and governance requirements in public sector IT environments. Job Role / Responsibilities: Design, develop, and configure ServiceNow applications, workflows, and integrations across ITSM, ITOM, CSM, and custom modules. Deliver assigned features aligned to roadmap priorities, such as: Yokohama upgrade readiness / Service Catalogue optimisation / Automation engine integrations / APM and CSM rollout Build integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, mid-servers, IntegrationHub, and custom connectors. Contribute to upgrade execution, clone analysis, and post-upgrade validation. Participate in Agile delivery processes including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Conduct peer reviews and participate in Three Amigos sessions to ensure technical quality and user alignment. Work with system administrators and support teams to resolve technically complex incidents and platform issues. Produce and maintain technical documentation, supporting handover to internal teams or other contractors as needed.
