I can speak to the calibre of the delivery team, many of whom have deliberately chosen to join from bigger firms to accelerate their progress. Business development activities for the team lean towards imaginative and creative as opposed to "flashy" and client take-up is high as a result. Your new role The firm are now keen to engage with a Disputes Director who is off the starting blocks on billing in their own name. You're likely to be attracting mandates from your own contacts (even if then conflicted) as well as generating repeat business via high calibre output from others. The threshold here for Partnership is more accessible than in a Top 10 or equivalent independent consulting firm, so if you're already "washing your face" in self-generated billings, it may only take a multiple of 2-3 times that to be in the conversation for 1st-rung partner.
