Freelance Commercial Manager (Gas) Colchester, Essex (Hybrid) 400 - 600 per day This is an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join a growing utilities contractor in a pivotal leadership role, taking ownership of the commercial function and helping shape the ambitious business's future growth. Are you an experienced Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor with a background in Gas Utilities, MRP or infrastructure? Do you have strong NEC contract knowledge and enjoy leading commercial performance while mentoring and developing others? This specialist utilities contractor delivers gas infrastructure and maintenance works across the UK, earning an excellent reputation for safety, quality and client delivery. Following continued growth, they are now looking to appoint a Commercial Manager to lead the day-to-day commercial function, working closely with the Operations Director and Group Commercial Director to maximise commercial performance across multiple live projects. In this role, you will oversee all commercial activities from project inception through to final account. You will take responsibility for CVRs, forecasting, commercial reporting, subcontractor management, valuations, compensation events and contractual compliance under NEC3 and NEC4 contracts. Alongside managing the commercial performance of the business, you will also mentor and develop a Junior Quantity Surveyor, helping to build a high-performing commercial team.
