We are partnering with leading groundwork contractors and RC frame specialists who require "formwork" experts capable of constructing precise moulds for heavy-duty concrete pours and structural foundations. If you are a Joiner who thrives in a high-volume environment and can move seamlessly from traditional timber shutters in deep excavations to advanced proprietary systems like PERI or Doka, we have immediate starts and long-term runs of work available now. The Role Formwork & Shuttering: Constructing and installing high-quality timber and system shutters for foundations, ground beams, retaining walls, and pile caps. Groundwork Support: Working alongside groundworkers to ensure all sub-structure formwork is perfectly aligned, braced, and "concrete-ready." System Knowledge: Utilising modern formwork systems (e.g., PERI, Doka, Skydeck) as well as traditional bespoke timber-built shutters. Technical Accuracy: Reading and interpreting site drawings to ensure all structures are built to the exact line, level, and dimensions required by the site engineer. Striking & Maintenance: Safely striking (dismantling) formwork once the concrete has cured and ensuring equipment is cleaned for the next pour. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term PAYE position with one of the UK's leading civil engineering contractors, working on large-scale infrastructure schemes within the rail sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in supervising site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Role Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of civil engineering works, coordinating subcontractors and direct labour, and ensuring programme milestones are achieved while maintaining strict health, safety, and quality standards.
