As a Night Shift Train Cleaner, you ll be responsible for preparing trains for daily service by maintaining high cleaning standards throughout Brighton Lover s Walk Depot in East Sussex. Your duties will focus on full interior train cleaning, including vacuuming and mopping floors, sanitising high-contact areas, carrying out deep cleans within train carriages, cleaning and servicing train toilets, removing internal graffiti where required, and ensuring all interior areas are presented to the highest possible standard. The role is varied and physical, offering a rewarding environment where you can see the results of your work at the end of every shift. You will be a reliable individual with a strong work ethic, good attention to detail, and a positive attitude toward maintaining a clean and safe environment. Previous experience within transport cleaning, industrial cleaning, or housekeeping would be beneficial, although full training and PPE will be provided. As this is a physically active role, you will need to be comfortable working on your feet for extended periods, climbing on and off trains while carrying cleaning equipment, and carrying out manual cleaning tasks throughout your shift. The role operates on a Sunday-to-Saturday roster schedule, with a standard average working week of 35 hours. This will be a rotating 12-week night pattern, consisting of eight weeks working 22:00pm to 06:00am and four weeks working 20:30pm to 04:30am. During busy periods, the roster may include extended runs of up to 13 consecutive shifts. The role offers excellent earning potential alongside longer-term career progression opportunities.
