My client based in Market Rasen, Lincolnshire requires a Grass Drying Operative to work in their grass processing facility, helping to convert freshly cut grass into dried products such as animal feed, pellets, or protein-rich feed ingredients. The role involves operating machinery, monitoring production processes, carrying out quality checks, and maintaining a safe working environment. The hours of work are 7am to 7pm Monday to Thursday and 7am to 5pm Friday in Harvest hours. Out of Harvest Hours the weeks runs 7am to 4pm. Monday to Thursday and 7am to 3pm Friday. The hourly rate is 12.91 per hour, with over time after 40 hours per week. The Role Purpose To operate and monitor grass drying equipment and associated machinery, ensuring efficient production of high-quality dried grass products while maintaining health, safety, and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities Operate grass drying, handling, and processing equipment. Monitor drying temperatures, moisture levels, and production parameters. Load raw materials and move finished products using appropriate equipment. Conduct routine quality checks on incoming grass and finished products. Record production data and complete operational documentation. Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of machinery and work areas. Identify and report equipment faults or process issues. Assist with plant shutdowns, start-ups, and maintenance activities. Follow all health, safety, environmental, and food/feed safety procedures. Work collaboratively with supervisors, maintenance teams, and other operatives. Skills and Experience Essential: Ability to work safely in an industrial or agricultural environment. Good attention to detail and ability to follow procedures. Basic mechanical aptitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime during peak seasons. Desirable: Experience in manufacturing, agricultural processing, or production operations. Typical Duties Receiving and inspecting freshly harvested grass. Operating conveyors, dryers, mills, and packaging equipment. Monitoring moisture content and product quality. Cleaning processing areas and equipment. The ideally candidate will come from an Industrial environment, have the ability to operate machinery and have stamina in peak periods.
