Your new company Our client is a leading, nationally recognised law firm with a top-tier catastrophic loss practice, is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its growing team. The firm acts for a broad panel of Tier 1 insurer clients, handling some of the most complex and high-value personal injury claims in the UK. You can expect a high level of home working. You will join a highly experienced catastrophic injury team, supporting Partners and senior lawyers on high-value, complex claims. Matters will include defendant catastrophic injury work across motor, employers' liability and public liability, typically valued from 100k to 20m+. Your new role As a Catastrophic Loss Associate, you will be responsible for: Assisting on and managing a caseload of complex, high-value injury claims valued from 100k to 20m+. Handling matters involving serious injuries such as brain injury, spinal injury, amputations and severe psychiatric injury Drafting pleadings, reports and correspondence Conducting liability investigations and reviewing evidence Instructing counsel and experts, including medical experts Attending hearings and ensuring compliance with court directions and deadlines Building and maintaining strong client relationships Supporting and mentoring more junior team members What you'll need to succeed Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (ideally 5+ PQE) Experience handing or assisting on catastrophic injury, large loss or serious injury litigation Background in EL/PL and/or motor claims (defendant experience preferred, but claimant experience will be considered) Exposure to high-value claims (exceeding 100k) Strong technical litigation skills and attention to detail Ability to manage competing priorities and work to strict deadlines Excellent communication and client-facing skills Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to case management What you'll get in return Opportunity to work on market-leading catastrophic injury work Clear progression pathway within a recognised national team Very flexible hybrid working arrangements and a high level of home working. Your new role We are working with a prestigious firm who are on the lookout for a skilled lawyer to join their General Liability Insurance team based in Bristol. This is an incredible opportunity for a qualified Legal Executive or Solicitor (NQ+). The team spans across London and Bristol and is part of the firm's Insurance Group and has a well-established client base, acting for a number of market leading liability insurers in the provision of their employers, public and products liability services to insured businesses. Your new role The role will predominantly be dealing with personal injury claims, with the opportunity to become involved in associated regulatory matters such as health and safety investigations/prosecutions and inquests. There is also the opportunity to deal with the regulation of products. The work will be very varied, interesting and challenging and where you show you can run the cases successfully, you will be given autonomy to make your own mark on the files. You will also have the opportunity to get involved with business development and client initiatives, where appropriate. You will manage and assist with the management of fast track, intermediate and multi-track personal injury claims and advise on all legal aspects relating to claims including coverage. What you'll need to succeed You will be a Legal Executive or Solicitor (NQ+), with experience of handling defendant personal injury claims and fast-track litigation. You will have experience, or an interest in gaining experience in, Product Law and Health & Safety and a good knowledge of legal procedures. You will be able to deliver legal and commercial solutions and established collaborative working relationships with clients and colleagues to provide an outstanding client experience. You should be able to manage client relationships and deliver trusted relationships, with a high level of confidentiality and integrity and be committed to business development to further grow their network and the practice. The Role: We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Compliance Executive to join our Compliance team within a busy personal injury practice. This role is responsible for ensuring adherence to UK legislation, Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations, professional conduct rules, ethical obligations, data protection requirements, and internal policies. The successful candidate will support lawyers and staff in managing risk and maintaining best practice across the firm. The primary focus of this position is analysing performance data and trends to identify areas for improvement across the business, maximising efficiency and profitability. Where required you will conduct in-depth file audits. The role will also involve managing reporting and accountability for higher-risk or complex cases, ensuring these matters remain compliant with firm procedures and regulatory obligations while reducing overall risk exposure. This role would suit an experienced Personal Injury Fee Earner who is looking to step away from a file-handling role and get more involved with file audits, risk management and quality control.
