The business prides itself on maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service across its operations. Your new role As a Weighbridge Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the weighbridge and administration systems. You will ensure all waste movements are accurately recorded and compliant with statutory legislation and company procedures. You will also act as the first point of contact for drivers, contractors, and visitors, playing a key role in maintaining a safe, organised, and professional site environment. Key Responsibilities Operate the weighbridge system accurately and complete all required documentationRecord vehicle registrations, haulier details, and material types using specialised softwareIdentify abnormal vehicle weights or potential contamination and escalate where necessaryEnsure incoming waste complies with site permits and acceptance criteriaProduce routine tonnage and operational reportsWelcome and direct drivers, contractors, and visitors around the siteMonitor and manage HGV traffic flow within the weighbridge areaEnsure all visitors sign in/out and adhere to PPE requirementsDeliver site safety briefings and communicate emergency proceduresReport incidents, near-misses, and breaches of site rulesProvide a professional and efficient customer service experienceComplete general administrative duties What you'll need to succeed Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft OfficeExcellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entryStrong communication skills with a professional approachAbility to organise, prioritise, and manage workload effectivelyA team-player attitude with a willingness to support colleaguesA flexible, proactive approach with the ability to remain calm under pressureOccasional travel between sites may be required.
