JOB DESCRIPTION About the role We have a new opportunity for a Litigation Officer to join The Guinness Partnership on a full time, 35 hours per week, permanent basis. We operate a hybrid working pattern, where you will work 3 days per week in the office, and 2 days remotely. As a Litigation Officer you will play a vital role in resolving disputes and ensuring optimum outcomes for our residents and Guinness. What we are looking for You will handle a caseload of housing related litigation matters, in particular, rent arears, so excellent communication skills and great attention to detail are essential. You will also have an up to date understanding of housing and tenancy laws in order to manage your caseload effectively. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to showcase their problem-solving skills in a climate of legislative change whilst dealing with challenging situations. You will also be able to demonstrate these essential skills: In depth and up to date understanding of relevant housing and tenancy laws. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a caseload of rent arrears cases. Strong resource and time management, and the ability to prioritise. Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills. Resilient and able to deal with challenging situations and deliver sustainable outcomes. Desirable skills: Litigation qualification e.g. Level 3 certificate in law and practice. Experience of working in the housing or property sector. Knowledge of regulatory legislation for social housing. Essential Qualifications: Level 2 (C+ or 9-4 GCSE or equivalent) in English or Maths.
