System Engineer/ITEA Overview We are looking for a hands-on Systems Verification / RF Test Engineer to support the test, integration, and acceptance of airborne radio communication systems. This is a practical, delivery-focused role for someone who can organise and drive their own work, keep a tight grip on progress and issues, and collaborate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to deliver high-quality outcomes with minimal rework. Key Responsibilities Lead physical and functional integration and verification activities for an Air Radio Communications System Write and maintain functional test procedures at sub-system and system level Execute testing in line with agreed procedures, refining procedures to improve efficiency and repeatability Maintain a clear, organised view of test progress, issues, risks, dependencies, and next actions Operate RF laboratory test equipment (desirable), such as: signal generators, spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, noise sources, etc. Compile and manage evidence in verification compliance matrices Provide updates into the wider systems engineering activity (documentation, status, inputs/outputs) Support wider verification/qualification activities as required Support customer and supplier meetings, including preparation of documentation and presentations Report progress clearly and escalate technical issues early to protect delivery Deliver work to agreed time, cost, and quality targets Skills / Competencies Highly proactive, self-managing, and organised, while knowing when to seek input Solid understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle Strong first-principles problem solving, able to identify root cause and implement corrective actions Comfortable working with ambiguity and multiple stakeholders Strong written and verbal communication, able to explain technical issues to different audiences Required Experience / Background Engineering degree or equivalent experience in Electronics / RF Comms / Software 5+ years' Systems Engineering experience, with recent experience operating in a lead role Experience in verification and/or design of RF systems or other complex electronic/networked systems Good working knowledge of verification frameworks and evidence generation (e.g., ITEA / systems verification approaches)

The Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting the integration, testing, verification, and acceptance of airborne radio communication systems, with a strong emphasis on hands-on RF testing and system verification activities. Knowledge of aerospace and defence standards, including ARP4754, RTCA DO-160G, and MIL-STD-810. Experience using systems engineering toolsets such as Polarion. Practical experience operating RF test equipment and conducting laboratory-based verification activities. The role will require candidates to have active or eligibility for SC clearance.
