Carpenter Annual Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 Location: Southampton Job Type: Full-time We are seeking a qualified and experienced Carpenter to join our Client's Maintenance Team. This role is based in Southampton and involves travel around the local area for which a business use van and fuel card will be provided. You will be part of the Voids / Empty homes team and you will perform a variety of carpentry and general maintenance tasks across their properties. Day-to-day of the role: Carry out all forms of carpentry repairs as part of the Voids Team and elsewhere as needed. Perform both 1st fix and 2nd fix carpentry. Install windows, doors, and door frames, both internal and external. Handle UPVC servicing and installation. Conduct locksmithing tasks including lock snapping, drilling, and picking. Construct and repair all types of fencing, including posts, feather edge, chain link, and panels. Fit and build kitchens, including minor joinery tasks. Undertake basic plumbing, plastering, tiling, decorating, and other general maintenance duties as required. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in carpentry, ideally within the Residential/Housing sector. Qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry, or at least 5 years of proven experience in the field. Strong knowledge of health and safety best practices. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Enjoyment in hands-on, physical work and problem-solving within a dynamic environment. Benefits: Company van and fuel card for business use.
