HGV Class 2 Refuse Collections Driver Location: Stowmarket, Suffolk, IP14 Pay Rate: £16.59 per hour Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm Contract Type: Temporary Ongoing with Potential for Permanent Employment Join a Leading Waste Management Team We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated HGV Class 2 Refuse Collections Driver to join a busy waste management operation based in Stowmarket, Suffolk (IP14) . This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Class 2 driver looking for consistent weekday work, competitive pay, and the potential to secure a permanent position with a well-established organisation. This is a hands-on role that combines professional driving duties with assisting the collection crew to ensure refuse and recycling rounds are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Key Responsibilities Carry out daily refuse and recycling collections across designated routes Safely operate HGV Class 2 vehicles and associated collection equipment Assist refuse loaders when required to ensure rounds are completed efficiently Use in-cab technology and mobile devices in accordance with operational procedures Complete all required paperwork and electronic records accurately and in real time Conduct daily pre-use and post-use vehicle inspections, reporting defects promptly Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of vehicles and equipment Follow safe manual handling and lifting procedures at all times Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with residents and members of the public Ensure compliance with all company policies, road transport regulations, and health & safety requirements What We're Looking For Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card No more than 6 penalty points on your licence No major endorsements Willingness to assist with loading duties as part of a team Strong communication and interpersonal skills Reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated Flexible approach with the ability to undertake a variety of tasks Previous refuse collection or waste management experience is advantageous but not essential A clean driving licence is desirable What's in It for You?
