Senior Legal Counsel Birmingham Hybrid Working (3 Days Office / 2 Days Home) £60K - £77K A leading organisation delivering major, long-term programmes is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its established legal team.This is a high-profile role for a commercially astute lawyer who enjoys operating at a strategic level, influencing complex procurement decisions, and partnering with senior leaders across a large organisation. You will be trusted to lead on some of the most significant commercial and contractual matters within the business while helping shape the development of the wider legal function. The Opportunity As Senior Legal Counsel, you will act as a key adviser on high-value procurements, contract management and commercial matters, supporting major programmes from procurement through to delivery and operation.Working closely with executive stakeholders, procurement teams and project leaders, you will provide commercially focused legal guidance that enables successful outcomes while protecting the organisation's interests. Key responsibilities will include: Leading legal support on complex, high-value procurement exercises and contract management matters. Providing expert legal advice across a broad range of commercial issues, including construction contracts, intellectual property, insurance, information governance and operational matters. Acting as a trusted adviser to senior business stakeholders and project teams. Contributing to legal training, knowledge sharing and best-practice initiatives. Managing relationships with external law firms where specialist expertise or additional capacity is required. Overseeing legal budgets, performance, delivery quality and value for money. About You You will be a qualified solicitor with significant post-qualification experience gained either in-house, private practice, or a combination of both. Strong construction and infrastructure contracting expertise, ideally including NEC3 frameworks. Demonstrable experience managing external legal advisers and associated budgets.
