This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong PLC and automation experience who enjoys working on bespoke machinery and industrial systems throughout the full project lifecycle. The Role As a Control & Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, programming, testing and commissioning of control systems for bespoke industrial equipment. Working closely with electrical, mechanical and project teams, you will deliver automation solutions from concept through to customer handover. Key Responsibilities Designing and developing PLC and HMI control systems for bespoke industrial machinery Programming Siemens PLCs using TIA Portal Supporting and modifying Allen-Bradley PLC systems where required Developing HMI and SCADA applications Producing functional design specifications and technical documentation Supporting electrical design activities and control panel integration Conducting factory acceptance testing (FAT) and system validation Supporting installation and commissioning activities on customer sites Diagnosing and resolving control system faults and performance issues Working closely with customers, suppliers and internal engineering teams throughout projects About You Experience in a Control Systems, Automation or Controls Engineer position Strong Siemens TIA Portal programming experience Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs Knowledge of industrial automation, control systems and instrumentation Experience commissioning machinery, process equipment or industrial systems Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and technical drawings Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and project coordination abilities HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related discipline Desirable Experience with SCADA systems Knowledge of industrial communication networks and fieldbus systems Experience within process equipment, manufacturing or special purpose machinery environments Benefits Salary 45,000 - 65,000 depending on experience Opportunity to work on bespoke automation projects Long-term career progression and development opportunities Supportive and collaborative engineering environment If you're a Control & Automation Engineer with Siemens TIA Portal experience and exposure to Allen-Bradley systems, we'd love to hear from you.
