Job Description About the role: We are looking for a Senior Staff Engineer (IC5) to join our Risk Assessment Platform squad. Our mission is to build a platform that allows Wise product teams to stay safe and compliant by executing risk assessments quickly and easily, while enabling our Financial Crime and Compliance teams to build controls with minimal effort. What will you be working on?: In the near future, you will be spearheading technical solutions for our biggest upcoming challenges: Data Integrity: Solving complex problems related to data lineage, completeness, and validity. Bridging the Gap: Designing and defining the technical contracts between Product teams and Financial Crime teams. End-to-End Flows: Building robust, scalable e2e risk assessment workflows. System Optimization: Driving initiatives to continuously improve our speed, latency, and cost metrics. What do you need?: Deep Backend Expertise: Solid, production-proven experience with Java and modern (micro)service architectures. Advanced Architecture Skills: Experience owning and designing fundamental components, shared libraries, and core infrastructure.
