Warehouse Operative Location: Northampton Monday - Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30 Friday: 07:30 - 12:30 (Early finish!) Breaks: 30-minute lunch, 10-minute tea break Pay rate: £12.71 To support the effective and smooth day-to-day running of the warehouse by accurately receiving and distributing goods, picking items for despatch, and working in an efficient and systematic manner. All areas within the warehouse are worked on a rotating basis as and when required. The successful candidate will actively use and help maintain 4 key warehouse systems, strictly comply with Health and Safety regulations, and work diligently to meet daily KPIs and SLAs. This hands-on role involves collaborating closely with team members and coordinating with various stakeholders, including the overseas HQ Logistics team. We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and "sleeves-rolled-up" Warehouse Operative to join our team in Northampton. This is an active, physical role where you will be the heartbeat of the warehouse floor, ensuring the smooth, daily flow of goods in and out. Key Responsibilities Hands-on Operations: Actively participate in processing weekly shipments, organising the despatch area, and assisting the repair department. Work collaboratively with the wider warehouse team to ensure overall success. Picking & Packing: Accurately pick stock for customer orders using handheld barcode scanners. Hands-on Operations: Actively participate in processing weekly shipments including coordinating UK store deliveries and preparing the weekly Thursday shipments to Italy as well as organising the despatch and repair departments. Work collaboratively with the wider warehouse team to ensure overall success. MHE & Loading: Safely load completed orders onto various courier vehicles by hand, counterbalance, or reach truck. Inventory & Systems: Conduct regular stock checks, maintain organised inventory locations, and ensure precise data entry within the warehouse management systems. Cross-Department Collaboration: Work in partnership with the Export/Import and Stores departments to keep processes moving seamlessly. Health & Safety: Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free working environment, strictly adhering to all H&S protocols and safety guidelines. Workflow Efficiency: Manage your daily tasks effectively to ensure all orders are dispatched on time, especially during the shorter Friday shift. Development: Attend training and development sessions as required to build your skills and support your career growth. Candidate Requirements Licensing: (Not essential, but highly advantageous) An in-date, accredited Counterbalance Experience: Proven experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Attitude: A truly "hands-on" and proactive approach. You should be happy to jump on a forklift one minute and assist with manual sorting and packing the next. Local Knowledge: Based in or within an easy, reliable commuting distance of Northampton. Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with the team and overseas colleagues. Computer Literacy: Comfortable using hand-held scanners and confident in learning and navigating warehouse management systems.
