Class sizes do not exceed seven pupils and are supported by a qualified class teacher and up to two teaching assistants. Our school supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) and a range of diagnoses, which may include Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, attachment needs and mild to moderate learning needs. Role Responsibilities Plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the National Curriculum, at primary and secondary levels, while meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils Support the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours Report on pupils' progress and concerns, liaising with other school staff to ensure pupils' needs are met Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips Build positive relationships with pupils, encouraging interaction and positive learning outcomes Assist the Exams Officer with the planning, organisation and administration of internal and external examinations Requirements Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have a strong educational background to degree level Have previous successful SEND teaching experience Have a good understanding of the examination process Have previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an educational setting Have experience of using effective behaviour management techniques Be committed to professional development and willing to learn What We Offer A workplace that values the emotional health and wellbeing of everybody, you included!
