Following the onboarding of new funding lines, the business is expanding its business development capability and is seeking a credible BDM to originate lending opportunities across London and the South of the UK. The Company Our client is an established name in the space, with a strong lending track record stretching back more than a decade. The business takes a commercially minded approach to lending, supported by strong and flexible funding partnerships that drive opportunity. The company has recently secured new funding lines and is evolving how it deploys its available capital. This creates an attractive opportunity for an experienced business development specialist to join at a point when the lender has both the appetite and resources to grow their loan book. The team comprises approximately eight people, giving employees meaningful visibility and influence. The successful candidate will work closely with the founding partners and wider lending team rather than operating through a large or heavily layered infrastructure. This appointment will strengthen origination capacity, broaden introducer coverage and support the deployment of available capital to drive lending growth. Role Overview As BDM you will be responsible for generating and converting a consistent pipeline of good-quality bridging finance opportunities. You will achieve this by strategically managing your own diary of appointments and events with brokers and borrowers. Ultimately, your objective is to achieve agreed lending targets for your region which in turn have a huge impact on the lenders overall success and future growth. This may also be key for your development within the firm. You will be ably supported by our client's strong & experienced team in HQ with aspects such as case management, underwriting, completions and credit. You will also benefit from direct access to the board where you can work to influence strategy and results, whilst also benefitting from their market knowledge and insights. Responsibilities • Originate good-quality property finance opportunities across London and the Southeast • Develop new relationships with brokers, introducers and other relevant market participants • Maintain ownership of broker and introducer relationships throughout the lending process • Qualify enquiries & maintain an active pipeline of credible/deliverable transactions • Work closely with the board on new opportunities, strategies and commercial opportunities • Represent the lender externally with professionalism & credibility • Achieved agreed lending targets and objectives Candidate Requirements The ideal candidate for this role will be experienced in bridging finance lending and who has a strong and accessible network for new originations. You will be proactive in your approach with a demonstrable lending track record. You will be comfortable working towards important targets and confident in your ability to achieve them. You will be collaborative in approach & happy to work within a smaller, but growing team. • Previous experience in short-term property finance lending • A demonstrate track record of lending performance against agreed targets • Well-connected to market contacts that will support origination activity • Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills • A proactive, self-motivated approach to delivery • Comfortable working within a lean, entrepreneurial and founder-led business On Offer Our client is ideally looking to pay up to £80k as a basic salary for the ideal individual, relevant to experience. Higher offers may also be considered for exceptional talent. Salary will be complemented by access to our client's fantastic bonus structure too, that will reward you for the loans you successfully complete and will drive a significant OTE based on performance. Notably, as our client is currently boutique in size, but big in ambition and personality, this is also a role that can create future growth opportunities for you, as excellent performance is delivered. The upcoming growth is set to drive more senior roles within the business with a preference to promoting from within. Therefore opportunities to progress career standing and salary within may be achieved, where successful in this role. Next Steps There is a reasonable amount of urgency to fill this position in line with objectives. Due to the nature of the role & opportunity, you do not expect it to be on the market for long! If this role does sound like one that you are both qualified for and interested in, then we look forward to your application as soon as possible.
