Key Responsibilities -Support the Shift Controller with the daily management of production operations. -Lead, motivate and supervise production operatives to achieve production and quality targets. -Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times. -Allocate labour and resources effectively to meet production plans and customer demand. -Deliver shift briefings and communicate production priorities to the team. -Monitor operator performance, providing coaching, training and support where required. -Ensure production processes and work instructions are followed correctly. -Troubleshoot production issues and escalate maintenance concerns to minimise downtime. -Work closely with colleagues across shifts to ensure effective communication and smooth handovers. -Investigate quality concerns and support corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. -Assist with employee training, performance reviews and development. -Provide cover for the Shift Controller during periods of absence. The successful candidate will have: -Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within a manufacturing environment. -Ideally a minimum of three years' manufacturing experience, with paint, automotive or similar production experience advantageous. -Strong leadership and people management skills. -Excellent communication and organisational abilities. -A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. -The ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment. -GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent). -A full UK driving licence.
