Azure Platform Engineer
Eteam Workforce Limited Sheffield, Yorkshire
We are a Global Recruitment specialist that provides support to the clients across EMEA, APAC, US and Canada. We have an excellent job opportunity for you. Role Title: Azure Platform Engineer Location: Sheffield (3 days onsite) Duration: 11/12/2026 Pay Rate: £523 per day all inc. (PAYE through Umbrella) Role Description: At Client, our Comms Tech (CT) platform team is at the heart of an ecosystem of services and applications that fuel our Enterprise Technology and shape Client's bold global digital presence. We manage an extensive and dynamic portfolio, spanning over 180 Client Public Websites and the Client Intranet Workplace, delivering sleek, world-class digital experiences that resonate and connect Client colleagues and customers worldwide. Role overview This is a hands-on senior engineering role for a deep Azure specialist: you will be the engineer who owns the Azure platform underneath our web estate and sets the technical standard for how it is run. You'll keep our VM images current and compliant through the established build and release process, implement and respond to new policies as they are pushed across the estate, and drive infrastructure as code and PowerShell automation as the default way we work. You'll design and make the changes yourself, and you'll be expected to bring strong, well-founded opinions on how the platform should evolve. You'll work day to day with platform engineers, application pods, and cybersecurity, act as the technical authority for Azure across the team, and raise the capability of engineers around you through review, guidance, and example. Key responsibilities - Operate and maintain the VM image build and release process: keep golden images current, apply hardening and patching updates, incorporate newly mandated controls, and manage testing and rollout of new image versions across the estate. - Implement and respond to Azure Policy and new governance controls as they are pushed: design compliant infrastructure, assess impact, and remediate drift and non-compliance. - Build and maintain infrastructure as code and the CI/CD pipelines that deploy it, moving manual changes into repeatable, reviewed automation. - Develop serious PowerShell automation: reusable modules and tooling for provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks, not one-off scripts. - Configure and troubleshoot core Azure networking: VNets, NSGs, private endpoints, DNS, load balancing, and traffic routing. - Lead technical investigation of complex platform issues across infrastructure, network, and application layers using logs, monitoring, and diagnostic tooling. - Produce clear technical documentation and explain platform behaviour to engineers and business stakeholders. Required qualifications and requirements Essential - Deep, current hands-on experience engineering Azure platforms in production at scale: compute, storage, networking, identity, and governance. You understand how the platform actually works: ARM, the resource life cycle, RBAC, managed identities, and the Azure Policy engine, not just how to deploy resources. - Expert-level PowerShell: you have designed and built substantial automation in production, including reusable modules, error handling, testing, and tooling other engineers depend on. You are the person others come to when their automation breaks. - Strong command of Azure networking: VNets, NSGs, private endpoints, DNS, routing, load balancing, and hybrid connectivity, and the ability to design and troubleshoot traffic flows end to end. - Hands-on experience working with VM image build and release processes (eg, Azure Image Builder, Packer, or shared image galleries): updating, patching, and rolling out images through an established pipeline, with a solid grasp of image life cycle and versioning. - Infrastructure as code in production with any major tool (Bicep, Terraform, or ARM), including module design, state and pipeline management, and reviewing others' code, not just writing your own. - Experience implementing and responding to governance at scale: interpreting new policies and controls as they land, assessing impact across an estate, and driving compliant remediation quickly. - A track record of leading the diagnosis of hard production issues across infrastructure, network, and application layers, and of being the engineer others escalate to. - Ability to produce clear technical documentation, explain platform behaviour to engineers and business stakeholders, and mentor less experienced engineers. Desirable - Azure landing zone or enterprise-scale architecture experience (management groups, subscription design, hub-and-spoke). - Azure Policy authoring and remediation at scale. - Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions pipeline experience. - Entra ID, RBAC, and managed identity experience. - Experience operating within security and operational risk controls in regulated environments. - Relevant certifications (eg, AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400). If you are interested in this position and would like to learn more, please send through your CV and we will get in touch with you as soon as possible. Please note, candidates are often Shortlisted within 48 hours.

Betting is a real-time, data-heavy business, and they are putting AI to work across the parts of it that matter most: how customers experience the product, how they keep customers safe, and how the business runs day to day. The Role We are seeking AI Engineers across all experience levels, from engineers early in their AI career through to senior and lead level, to build and scale AI-driven products across the business. Depending on your level and where you land, that could mean: Customer support automation: LLM agents that resolve account, payment and betting queries end to end, with clean handoff to human agents where it counts Safer gambling: systems that help spot at-risk behaviour early and deliver the right intervention at the right moment, built to satisfy regulator scrutiny KYC, AML and compliance workflows: document understanding and case summarisation that cut manual review time without cutting corners Personalisation: relevant content, offers and CRM messaging generated and tested at scale Internal tooling: copilots that give trading, CS and compliance teams faster answers from the company's own data These are applied LLM engineering roles, not quant or pricing roles. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across product, compliance and operations, and own what you ship. What You'll Do Build and deploy production AI applications using LLMs, including agent workflows, tool use and RAG pipelines over company data Contribute to evaluation frameworks covering accuracy, latency, cost and reliability, with the extra rigour a regulated industry demands Implement retrieval systems from ingestion and chunking through to vector stores and retrieval optimisation Ship production-grade code with proper observability, error handling, testing and CI/CD Help design guardrails and failure handling so AI systems behave safely with real customers and real money involved At senior levels, lead model and framework choices, mentor other engineers and shape how the group builds with AI What You'll Need Strong Python (or TypeScript) and solid software engineering fundamentals Hands-on experience building LLM applications or agents, whether in production, at work or through substantial personal projects, with a genuine understanding of their capabilities, limitations and failure modes Practical familiarity with RAG architectures, vector databases and prompt engineering Exposure to agent frameworks (LangGraph, Claude Agent SDK, OpenAI SDK) or equivalent custom implementations An interest in LLM evaluation, debugging and observability Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP or Azure) is a plus at junior level and expected at senior level The bar scales with the level. For senior roles we will expect production LLM systems shipped and owned end to end. For earlier-career roles we care most about strong engineering fundamentals and real, demonstrable work with LLMs. Nice to Have Experience in a regulated industry (gambling, financial services, insurance) and familiarity with responsible AI, auditability and governance Experience with high-traffic, real-time consumer platforms Fine-tuning experience and the judgement to know when it beats prompting or RAG Observability tooling (LangSmith, Langfuse, W&B) and cost optimisation Experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Copilot) What's on Offer Competitive salary benchmarked to your level and experience, plus discretionary bonus Pension, employee assistance programme and strong learning and development support Genuine production scale: millions of customers, live products, measurable outcomes The chance to shape how one of the biggest names in the industry uses AI Central London office with hybrid working
