Estimate mechanical services including HVAC, heating, ventilation, pipework, ductwork, plumbing and public health. Estimate electrical services including power, lighting, containment, distribution, fire alarm and data systems. Obtain and assess quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing. Identify commercial risks, opportunities and potential cost savings. Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to ensure tenders are technically and commercially sound. Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings where required. Support procurement and supplier management on live projects. Ensure tenders are completed accurately and within required deadlines. Skills & Experience The successful candidate will ideally have: Previous experience working as an M&E Estimator . Strong knowledge of both mechanical and electrical building services. Experience estimating across commercial, industrial and/or residential projects. Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications. Strong understanding of estimating, take-offs, labour, materials and subcontractor costs. Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of margins, risk and profitability. Excellent attention to detail and numerical ability. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple tenders and work to deadlines. Experience with estimating software and AutoCAD would be advantageous. Knowledge of renewable technologies such as Solar PV, EV charging, battery storage and heat pumps would be beneficial. HNC/HND, Degree or relevant trade background in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering would be advantageous.
