37 hours per week Soulbury Scale A, Points 2 - 7 (Plus up to 3 SPA Points) Following a successful local authority Estyn inspection, Bridgend County Borough Council are seeking to employ a skilled and enthusiastic Educational Psychologist to our well established, supportive and highly regarded Educational Psychology Service. The team provides a consultation service to schools and works closely with Inclusion Group colleagues and local authority services to identify needs and support the emotional wellbeing of vulnerable children and young adults across the borough. We value collaboration and there are well established multi-disciplinary working arrangements. This is an exciting time for local authority change and there will be opportunities to operate at a strategic level, to develop specialist interests and to undertake training. About the role Lead the strategic direction and operational delivery of the Educational Psychology Service. Drive high-quality, evidence-based psychological practice across schools, settings, and wider services. Ensure effective delivery of statutory SEND responsibilities and psychological advice. Provide expert leadership on inclusion, mental health, wellbeing, and safeguarding. Develop and support a skilled Educational Psychology workforce through supervision, induction, coaching, and professional development. Work collaboratively with senior leaders and multi-agency partners to influence system-wide improvement and integrated working. About you A recognised postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology. Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist. Significant local authority Educational Psychology experience. Extensive knowledge of SEND legislation, statutory processes, safeguarding responsibilities, and the strategic frameworks that underpin effective service delivery. Experience of leading Educational Psychology services or senior teams, including performance management, quality assurance, and service development.
