We are currently looking for a Painter & Decorator to work on insurance reinstatement projects covering Peterborough and the surrounding areas for a well-established property repairs contractor. This opportunity is with an established contractor delivering high-volume reactive repair and reinstatement works on behalf of leading insurers. We're looking for an experienced Painter & Decorator who is available to start as soon as possible on an ongoing subcontract basis. I'd be keen to speak to anyone with experience working within insurance reinstatement, domestic repairs, property maintenance or refurbishment, whether you've previously worked as a Painter, Decorator, Painting Technician, Property Maintenance Operative or in a similar role. As a Painter & Decorator, you will be: Carrying out painting and decorating works within occupied and void residential properties following insurance reinstatement works Preparing surfaces by filling, sanding, stripping wallpaper and repairing minor defects before decoration Applying emulsion, gloss, satinwood, primers, stains and other specialist coatings to walls, ceilings, woodwork and exterior surfaces where required Completing redecoration following fire, flood and escape of water damage Travelling between customer properties across Peterborough and the surrounding area Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard while providing excellent customer service Submitting accurate weekly electronic timesheets for approval I'd love to speak to anyone who has: Proven experience within domestic painting and decorating, refurbishment or insurance reinstatement Strong surface preparation and finishing skills with excellent attention to detail Experience working in occupied and void residential properties The ability to work independently and deliver high-quality workmanship A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the regional patch This Painter & Decorator role is offering the following benefits: Weekly pay (CIS payments available) 40 hours a week Mileage covered OR company van if needed Long-term work ASAP start Location & TravelThe role covers Peterborough and the surrounding areas, with work typically scheduled within approximately a 1.5-hour radius. Our client is seeking a Trainee Fire & Flood Restoration Technician to join them on a full-time permanent basis working 39 hours per week Monday to Friday starting on site at 8.00am with the chance to work paid overtime during busy periods throughout the year. It is essential that you hold a full driving licence to be considered for this position. As a Trainee Fire & Flood Restoration Technician, you will be responsible for stripping out fixtures and fittings from residential properties following floods and fires, setting up drying equipment, heat pads etc, collecting equipment. In this role you will be fully trained to become a Fire & Flood Restoration Technician, will undergo on the job training, and will undertake relevant courses and certifications to compliment your job. As Trainee Fire & Flood Restoration Technician, you will have come from some form of builder / labourer / construction type role where you have worked with building materials. Consideration will also be given to applicants with strong customer facing skills, installations of equipment, removals, or similar. It is essential that you have a full clean driving licence and are happy to travel across the whole of the N / NW postcode areas of London to customer properties to undertake your work. If selected for interview, first stage would be via Teams and for the second stage if successful you would need to be able to travel to our clients closest depot for your interview. In return you will receive a starting salary of £27,000 which will progress with length of service plus a c£2000 allowance per annum, accreditations, training etc. You will also have your own works van, 25 days paid holiday plus statutory holidays, pension, career development and much, much more.
