Head of Building Regulations Principal Design A well-established architectural practice is seeking a senior Building Regulations Principal Designer to lead and develop its Newcastle building safety division. The practice is already delivering Principal Designer services through its architectural and technical teams, but now requires an experienced specialist to provide long-term leadership, strengthen its higher-risk building expertise and grow the service. The successful candidate will have the freedom to shape the division, implement new systems and build a team around an established project pipeline. The Head of Building Regulations Principal Design Role The Head of Building Regulations Principal Design will act as the practice's senior technical authority on Building Regulations and building safety matters. You will oversee Principal Designer appointments across residential, healthcare, fa ade remediation and refurbishment projects. Lead Principal Designer - CDM & Building Regulations An established construction consultancy in Liverpool is seeking a Lead Principal Designer to head up its CDM and Building Regulations Principal Designer offering. This is a key appointment for the business and would suit an experienced Architect or Architectural Technologist who has moved into Principal Designer work and is confident leading both CDM and Building Regulations compliance. The successful Principal Designer will have significant autonomy, taking ownership of complex projects while helping shape and develop the consultancy's Principal Designer service. The Lead Principal Designer Role The Lead Principal Designer will deliver duties under both CDM 2015 and the Building Regulations, working closely with clients, Architects, consultants and contractors throughout the design process. You will lead design risk and compliance meetings, review technical design information against the Building Regulations and Approved Documents, manage CDM responsibilities and provide strategic advice to clients. Alongside project delivery, you will act as the technical lead for Principal Designer services, developing internal processes, supporting colleagues and helping grow the service across the North West. Design Manager: Head of Architecture Location: Remote Hybrid/Flexible UK (travel to clients, project sites and office as required) Salary: Up to 90,000 (DOE) Sector: Defence / Government / Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) Security: Must be able to obtain UK SC clearance (DV desirable) The Opportunity We're looking for a Design Manager: Head of Architecture to lead and assure architectural design across a portfolio of secure and accredited infrastructure projects supporting Defence, Government and CNI clients . This is a senior leadership position, combining hands-on architectural oversight with team leadership, governance and strategic direction , driving design excellence and continuous improvement across the business. Reporting to the Head of Operational Delivery (Professional Services) , you'll be the principal architectural authority-setting standards, embedding best practice and ensuring all designs are compliant, secure, resilient, commercially sound and deliverable.
