Overview We are currently recruiting for an experienced Approved Electrician to work on a secure prison establishment. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical installation works, including containment and fire detection system wiring, while adhering to strict security procedures and maintaining the highest standards of workmanship. Duties & Responsibilities Installation of electrical containment systems, including tray, basket, conduit and trunking. Wiring and installation of fire detection and alarm systems. Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications. Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with current BS7671 Wiring Regulations. Maintaining a safe working environment and complying with all site health and safety procedures. Working efficiently within a secure custodial environment and following all prison security protocols. Liaising with site management and other trades to ensure work progresses to programme. Essential Requirements Approved Electrician qualification (NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent). ECS Gold Card (Approved Electrician). EL1 Security Clearance (essential). Standard DBS Certificate (essential). Proven experience installing containment systems. Previous experience wiring fire detection and fire alarm systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Own tools and appropriate PPE. Desirable Previous experience working within prisons, secure environments, MOD or similar high-security sites. Experience with addressable fire alarm systems. IPAF and PASMA qualifications (advantageous). Working Hours Standard site hours (to be confirmed). Overtime may be available. Personal Attributes Professional and reliable. Our client, a large rail Telecoms business looking for Working Supervisors who are interested in working night shifts on the rail. The SPC must have a technical background from electrical or telecoms. The SPC will be supervising small teams of around 4-8 operatives. They will also be working alongside the teams each night. A van is offered subject to license checks. Must have experience running similar works on TFL and the Underground. Opportunity for promotion to Install Manager role is available when our client moves to new stations resulting in an increase in pay due to the role change. Task; Installation of CMS including Trunking, Tray and Conduit. Installation, Termination and Testing of CAT6A & Fibre Cabling. Installation & Termination of Field Antennas and Equipment. Rates; 260 Shifts and hours; 23:45PM - 04.45AM. Sunday - Thursday. Working only from 00:30 to 4:30am.
