Senior Technical Project Manager Global Microsoft 365 Transformation Remote MUST be UK based Salary: Up to £80,000 - Are you an experienced Senior Project Manager who has delivered large-scale Microsoft 365 migrations or tenant consolidation programmes? - Can you identify the risks and dependencies that may sit between different technical workstreams? - Are you confident managing senior stakeholders across multiple organisations, countries and time zones? We are recruiting for a growing technology consultancy delivering complex Microsoft, cloud, infrastructure and cybersecurity services to major organisations in the UK and internationally. They are looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager to lead an important global Microsoft 365 transformation programme. The project will involve consolidating multiple Microsoft 365 tenants, companies, user structures, applications and document management environments into one secure and scalable platform. This is a technically complex programme with multiple interconnected workstreams. Identity, devices, applications, data, security and document access will all need to be carefully sequenced to ensure changes made in one area do not create problems elsewhere. You will act as the central point of contact, coordinating senior client stakeholders, architects, consultants, engineers and other subject matter experts. This is not a hands-on engineering role, but you will need enough technical understanding to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions and identify risks or dependencies that individual specialists may overlook. You will also need excellent communication and negotiation skills. The programme involves stakeholders across the UK, North America and Asia, so you must be comfortable working across different organisations, cultures and time zones. The Role You will: Lead the programme from planning through to implementation, transition and closure. Develop and maintain clear plans covering scope, milestones, resources, dependencies, budgets and timescales. Coordinate technical workstreams across Microsoft 365, identity, devices, applications, data, security and document management. Identify cross-workstream dependencies and ensure migrations take place in the correct sequence. Establish strong governance, ownership, reporting and escalation processes. Maintain programme plans, RAID logs, dependency tracking and senior-level reporting. Identify risks, delays and resource constraints early and take corrective action. Challenge assumptions and ensure the wider impact of technical decisions is understood. Lead steering groups, programme meetings, workshops and executive updates. Translate complex technical information into clear business language. Align stakeholders across different companies, priorities and ways of working. Negotiate scope, priorities, resources and delivery dates. Challenge unrealistic expectations in a constructive and commercially aware way. Maintain control of scope, budgets, resources and change requests. Hold internal and external teams accountable for agreed actions and milestones. Ensure the completed programme is successfully transitioned into support or managed services. Essential Experience To be considered, you will need: Significant experience delivering large and technically complex transformation programmes. Previous responsibility for a major Microsoft 365 migration, tenant consolidation or similar enterprise technology programme. Strong understanding of the Microsoft 365 technology landscape. Experience coordinating multiple interconnected technical workstreams. A good understanding of migration sequencing, integration and technical dependencies. Strong programme governance, planning, risk management and change-control experience. Experience managing scope, budgets, resources and major milestones. Strong client-facing experience with large organisations and senior stakeholders. Experience working with architects, consultants, engineers and technical specialists. Excellent negotiation, influencing and conflict-resolution skills. The confidence to challenge clients and technical teams when required. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Relevant Technology Experience Your experience is likely to include several of the following: - Microsoft 365 tenant migrations and consolidation - Microsoft Entra ID - Microsoft Intune - MDM and MAM - Microsoft Defender - Power Platform and Power BI - Document management systems - Modern workplace and endpoint transformation - Application and data migrations - Cloud or infrastructure transformation You do not need to be an expert in every technology, but you must have enough technical understanding to recognise dependencies, ask informed questions and work credibly with technical specialists. The Person This role will suit someone who is highly organised, commercially aware and focused on delivery. You will be confident with senior stakeholders, calm under pressure and able to challenge people without becoming abrasive. You may currently work within a large enterprise and feel restricted by a narrowly defined role. Alternatively, you may already work within a consultancy or MSP delivering complex programmes for enterprise clients. What matters most is that you have successfully led major technology migrations and have the technical understanding, judgement and communication skills to take ownership of a critical global programme. Although the immediate priority is this Microsoft 365 consolidation programme, this is intended to be a long-term appointment with further opportunities to lead major transformation projects and help improve how project services are delivered.
