Key Responsibilities Network Design & Architecture Lead the design and development of complex network architectures and telecommunications solutions Deliver technical designs that meet performance, security, quality and safety requirements Produce and review: Network architecture documentation High- and low-level designs Network diagrams IP addressing and subnetting strategies Security architecture designs Cable schedules and diversity plans Technical configurations Technical Expertise Ensure designs align with customer requirements, industry standards and operational needs Develop secure and resilient network solutions for critical infrastructure environments Produce system requirements, specifications and technical proposals Present and explain architectural designs to customers and project stakeholders Project Delivery Support projects throughout the full systems engineering lifecycle Produce and review test specifications Support integration, testing, commissioning and operational deployment activities Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes Stakeholder Engagement Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and delivery partners Act as a trusted technical authority for network and communications solutions Work closely with engineering, project and innovation teams to influence technical strategy and delivery approaches What We're Looking For Essential Skills & Experience Degree qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) Extensive experience designing and delivering enterprise and operational technology network solutions Strong expertise in: LAN/WAN network design Network security architecture Routing and switching technologies Critical infrastructure or safety-related environments Demonstrable knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle Experience working within quality and safety-driven industries Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences Ability to deliver high-quality solutions within demanding project timescales Cisco certification at CCNP level or above , or equivalent practical expertise Desirable Experience Experience in one or more of the following areas would be highly advantageous: Software Defined Networking (SDN) Network automation Virtualisation technologies Data centre networking Next-generation firewalls SIEM and cyber security platforms Threat intelligence solutions Identity and Access Management (IAM) Operational technology and industrial control systems Experience working within rail, transportation, utilities, defence or other critical infrastructure sectors would be particularly beneficial.
