Fire & Security Engineer, Hertfordshire Are you an experienced Fire & Security Engineer with strong CCTV, intruder and access control knowledge, looking for a well-paid regional role with varied technical work? Job Description Duties will include: Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across fire and electronic security systems Servicing and repairing IP and analogue CCTV, intruder alarms, access control and door entry equipment Fault-finding across control panels, networks, devices, circuits and associated system components Maintaining, testing and repairing fire alarm systems across a range of customer sites Completing small works, system alterations, upgrades and minor installation projects Liaising with customers, facilities teams and site contacts regarding faults, repairs and recommended works Producing accurate service reports, job sheets, risk assessments and other technical documentation Managing van stock, tools, test equipment and replacement parts Supporting work on gates, barriers, disabled refuge or nurse call systems where required Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota, currently approximately one week in twelve Person Specification Applicants should be able to demonstrate: Previous experience as a Fire & Security Engineer, Security Systems Engineer or Multi-Skilled Engineer Strong practical knowledge of CCTV, intruder alarms, access control and door entry systems Experience working with IP-based CCTV systems and associated networking Proven ability to service, fault-find and repair fire alarm systems Experience with manufacturers such as Hikvision, Dahua, Galaxy, Texecom, Paxton, PAC, Videx, Gent, Advanced, Notifier, Morley or C-tec The ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues without close supervision Good knowledge of health and safety requirements and safe site working practices Strong customer-facing communication skills and a professional approach The ability to organise a mobile workload and travel throughout an allocated regional area A full UK driving licence Salary and Benefits The role offers a basic rate of £20 £24 per hour , equivalent to approximately £(phone number removed) per annum , depending on experience. The Security Manager will act as the senior operational authority and primary point of contact for the Command Centre during their shift , providing command and control across a broad range of operational capabilities, including Cyber/SOC, NOC, Infrastructure, Service Management and Physical Security . This is not a SOC Manager, Cyber Operations Manager or hands-on technical engineering position . I am currently looking for 2 experienced Cyber Security Engineers (DV Cleared) for a client, based in Milton Keynes with occasional travel to London. DV Clearance is essential - applicants without current clearance unfortunately cannot be considered. About the Role: These roles sit within a client's Cybersecurity Operations function. You will play a key part in designing, implementing, and maintaining the platforms that support enterprise-scale security operations. From SIEM and log collection to endpoint detection, automation, and integration, you'll help ensure the SOC team has the reliable and scalable infrastructure it needs to detect, investigate, and respond to threats.
