Role: Project Manager Salary/Rate: £250 - £283 per day inside IR35 Location: Travel throughout Scotland - must be based locally Contract Duration: approx. 5-months We are currently looking for a Project Manager for our government client. This Project Manager role is hybrid, based between 3 days per week travelling to sites throughout Scotland, and the remainder of the week working remotely. Excellent organisational skills Communication skills NEC4 experience and knowledge Risk background Incident management and reactive works experience. Strong understanding of site-based risk assessment. Experience visiting sites and making practical operational decisions. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects. Desirable Skills Experience relating to: Coal mining environments Mining subsidence Ground movement risks Geotechnical investigations Knowledge of ground investigation works and remediation projects. Role / Responsibilities: Respond to operational incidents and emerging site risks. Conduct regular site visits across Scotland Assess mining subsidence issues and geotechnical risks. Make initial site assessments and determine immediate actions required. Engage framework contractors where urgent remediation or safety measures are needed. Coordinate investigations, surveys, and specialist advice. Cover for other team members and provide project/site briefings when necessary. Manage project risks, stakeholder communications, and health & safety considerations. Work closely with contractors, engineers, and operational teams. Site Attendance: Attend projects under emergency and unplanned situations. Act as the competent person to ensure that the site is secured and provide immediate advice on public safety. Programme & Health & Safety Meetings: Transition into planned works and deliver a programme of projects with cross department support to ensure project liability is investigated and the hazard is remediated. Commercial Assurance: Provide contract management assurance using NEC4ECSC and prepare project justifications, ensuring optioneering and value for money in decision making. Review of Mining Information: Form opinions by reviewing mining information and all necessary site information to determine desktop liability and evidence to undertake investigation works. Emergency Planning: Dynamic response to project delivery with reduced planning and re-prioritising required.
