Senior PHP Developer Location: Hertfordshire / Hybrid (2 days onsite) PHP - LAMP - JavaScript - HTML - CSS - Linux - MySQL About the Opportunity An established technology business is looking to add an experienced PHP Developer to its engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale web applications, contribute to platform enhancements, and play a key role in the ongoing development of business-critical systems. The successful candidate will work closely with developers, QA engineers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions while helping shape technical direction and development best practices. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance PHP-based web applications. Deliver clean, secure, and scalable code following development best practices. Design and optimise databases and application performance. Build new features and improve existing functionality across the platform. Strong understanding of secure coding principles and software engineering best practices. Ability to design scalable systems and optimise application performance. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Desirable Experience with caching and performance technologies. Knowledge of distributed storage solutions. Exposure to CI/CD processes and automated deployment practices. Understanding of SEO, localisation, and large-scale web platforms.
