This position is based at Orwell Logistics Park in Ipswich. Access Control Officers are key members of the Security Team and are tasked with enabling access for the workers employed across the SZC project by the control, issue and receipt of access control passes. Their primary tasks are to deliver front of house reception, administration and customer service duties to support the project and enable both site pass holders and visitors to gain access to the SZC sites and prevent unauthorised access where required. This is primarily an administrative, customer facing, reception role with the operation of security and visitor management IT systems. Oversee operational planning, workforce resourcing and service delivery across mobile, guarding and control room functions. Promote a culture of professionalism, continuous improvement and proactive risk management. Act as senior escalation point for operational incidents and provide out-of-hours duty management support as required. The Person Demonstrable senior-level experience in an Operational Security Manager / Operations Manager capacity. Strong operational background across manned guarding, mobile response and control room environments. Proven leadership capability, with experience building, motivating and developing high-performing teams. A track record of implementing and improving operational frameworks, processes and governance. Sound understanding of contract management, service delivery models and SLAs. Highly organised with excellent planning and execution skills. A confident and credible communicator, able to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders and internal teams. Resilient, detail-oriented and comfortable operating within demanding, fast-paced operational environments. Qualifications & Requirements Valid and active SIA Licence (SG, DS or CP); CCTV licence advantageous. Full UK manual driving licence. Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, SIA ACS and British Standards (BS 7499, 10800, 7984-1/3). Competent user of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiar with workforce management / rostering systems. Flexible and professional approach to working patterns, including participation in out-of-hours duty management rotas. A commitment to continuous professional development and operational excellence.
