We're currently looking for Temporary Works Supervisor will support the safe and controlled implementation of temporary works across a major infrastructure project. Working closely with the Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC), engineering team, construction management and site supervision, the TWS will provide day-to-day supervision of temporary works within their allocated areas. The role is particularly focused on ensuring temporary works are installed, used, inspected, modified and dismantled in accordance with the approved design, temporary works procedures and agreed construction methodology. The project is a fast-paced, self-delivery environment with multiple simultaneous work fronts and a significant site workforce, requiring strong organisation, communication and site supervision. Temporary Works Supervision Supervise temporary works activities within allocated areas under the direction of the Temporary Works Coordinator. Ensure temporary works are constructed and installed in accordance with the approved design, drawings, specifications and method statements. Check that the latest approved temporary works information is available to the construction team before works commence. Ensure relevant supervisors, engineers and operatives understand the temporary works requirements applicable to their activities. Monitor temporary works throughout their installation and use. Identify deviations from the approved temporary works design and ensure these are raised immediately with the TWC. Ensure temporary works are not altered, loaded, dismantled or otherwise changed without the appropriate authorisation. Support the controlled dismantling and removal of temporary works when no longer required. Inspection & Control Carry out and coordinate inspections of temporary works at the required stages. Ensure hold points and inspection requirements are observed before construction activities proceed. Verify that temporary works have been installed in accordance with the approved design before requesting the appropriate permit or authorisation. Assist with pre-use inspections and checks prior to temporary works being brought into service. Monitor temporary works during use for signs of movement, damage, deterioration or unauthorised alteration. Ensure any defects or non-conformances are identified, reported and appropriately resolved. Maintain clear inspection and supervision records. Coordination Work closely with the Temporary Works Coordinator to understand upcoming temporary works requirements. Liaise with Site Engineers, Senior Engineers, Sub Agents, Construction Managers, General Foremen and supervisors. Coordinate temporary works activities with the construction programme and individual work fronts. Assist in identifying upcoming temporary works requirements before they become programme constraints. Attend temporary works, engineering and construction coordination meetings where required. Ensure the site delivery team understands any restrictions, loading limitations or sequencing requirements associated with temporary works. Documentation & Compliance Support the TWC in maintaining accurate temporary works documentation. Ensure approved drawings, design information and relevant documentation are available at the point of work. Maintain records of inspections and temporary works activities within allocated areas. Ensure temporary works procedures and project-specific requirements are followed. Support the close-out of temporary works documentation following completion and dismantling. Escalate any temporary works concern immediately where the installation or site condition differs from the approved design. Experience & Qualifications The successful individual should ideally have: Previous experience supervising temporary works on major civil engineering, reinforced concrete or infrastructure projects. Good understanding of temporary works procedures and the relationship between the TWC, TWS, Temporary Works Designer and construction team. Ability to interpret temporary works drawings, specifications and technical information. Strong inspection and record-keeping capability.
